Harvest Time by Johnson Brothers was my grandmother’s pattern. I have the remaining pieces of her place settings~
With Harvest as a theme, I harvested a medley of veggies, fruits & flowers for this table. . .
These dishes are lovingly worn and chipped in places. Only three Dinner Plates are left. One Lonely Salad Plate. Three Soup Bowls. Four Bread & Butters. One Oval Platter. And five Fruit/Dessert Bowls.
This bountiful centerpiece is easy to create with veggies, fruits & flowers from the market. Pots of pansies or flowers can be concealed easily with moss~
Tuck in artichokes, asparagus~ any veggies that have an appealing texture or color. . .sunflower stems are in water picks~ use whatever flower you like that is available~
The best part is since it’s temporarily constructed, you can break it down and eat it for dinner later :-)
I love the texture of this savoy cabbage with the sunlight highlighting all its veins. . .
I confess I enjoy playing with my veggies more than eating them :-)

I want my thanksgiving table to look like this! Seriously, if I could do half as good of a job on a centerpiece as you did that abundance of plenty, I’d be a happy camper. I also love your grandmother’s dishes. I happen to think the chips of use make old plates even prettier.

I loved your table ! We have a vacation home on Lake Tulloch in Northern California and this year will be our first Thanksgiving at the lake so I’m very excited!! Your centerpiece gave me some great inspiration with the veggies & sunflowers. I started a blog about 2 weeks ago but I have a looooong way to go on it. Amazing centerpiece! It looks so beautiful. I know you said it would be easy to put together however I think you have a lot of talent. I don’t think I could do it, at least no where near as beautiful as yours. It looks so rich and well, bountiful. Love it!
First of all, I love that heirloom china, and I am crazy about the plaid you chose to go with it. The perfect colors in that, I might add! And I’m with you about the veggies… I’d much, MUCH rather play with them. LOL! You just did such a nice job with this tablescape. Every inch is fallish!

This is so gorgeous & wonderful. I love the sweet addition of your grandmother’s china. I only have a couple of things that belonged to my grandmother, but they are such treasures to me. You just did such a beautiful job of tying all these different elements together.
