I ran across this book at the library standing in line for early-voting in November, as the line wound around upstairs through the children’s section. If I have to stand in line to vote, there’s no better place than the library for me :-)
Prominently on display, I picked it up to thumb through, and was enamored with the illustrations and sweet story. To share this book, I pulled out my Fitz & Floyd Christmas Bunnies, that still after twenty years, make me as cheery as reading this book did~
Young readers~ pre-school through kindergarten age~ will cotton to this story, as a happy bunny family prepares for a Merry Christmas with all the trimmings. Mom & Dad, brother & sister, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents come together for a joyful celebration. All family members share in the holiday preparations that make for a delightful tail ;-) that young readers will enjoy (& 50-year-old ones too!)
My Fitz & Floyd bunnies accompany Paige Miglio’s beautifully detailed illustrations. Paired with Rick Walton’s rhyming text, the two paint a heartwarming holiday portrait of family togetherness.
Bunnies are busy decking the halls. . .decorating a tree with strings of popcorn & candy canes, hanging lights and wreaths. . .
Wreath design hardboard and cork placemats frame my leaf embossed bowls.
I filled my pedestal Santa & Bunny bowl with greenery~ cedar, magnolia, juniper, along with some apples, nandina berries, pinecones and a few camellias that were blooming. . .
The bunnies satisfy their sweet tooth with carrot cake. . .
Visiting with Santa. . .
. . .and helping roll out dough to make sugar cookies~
Like a sugar cookie or slice of carrot cake, this book is a sweet treat to share with a young reader this Christmas~

What a sweet book! I will place this on my amazon wish list. I have a large collection of children’s books waiting for my grandson and hopefully others that come along. I bought him his own copies of the classic of Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Reindeer this year.
Fitz & Floyd makes the nicest things and your Christmas bunny is so cute! I love his relaxed pose.

I was so busy reading about the book and looking at the wonderful illustrations that I had to go back and pay attention to the table! That book looks wonderful, and since one of my favorite things to do is read to children, I’m going to remember it.
And the table is wonderful with the perfert choice of the leaf bowls. I LOVE your centerpiece and will probably revisit and study it so that I can use my camelias as well as you did.

What a beautiful setting to go with the theme of the book! I love your table and I am a bunny collector myself. With a new granddaughter and my love of bunnies, I think this might be a good book for me to get!

WOW!!! First, what a great tie-in with that book! Perfect!!! I love all the figurines and how the cabbage bowls fit with the whole theme! (You’ve had those figurines for 20 years? They look to be in pristene condition!) And your floral piece is perfect! You did an incredible job with that!!! You are so lucky to still have camelia in bloom. All your sweet treats look like the work of a professional. I will admit to having NO patience with rolling/squeezing out and decorating cookies. You did a bang up job all ’round! Mary, this is bunnylicious! Fitz and Floyd bunnies with those darling illustrations paired to perfection. You continue to astound me with your creativity. This is just the kind of book that makes little eyes sparkle with delight. Every detail certainly has my eyes sparkling!

This is completely cool! I love to see the work of people who think outside the box. I taught primary grades for many years and have a mini library of children’s illustrated books. I often use them in tablescapes and vignettes, but had not thought of using just one as inspiration of an entire table.
Now, I shall be thinking differently.
What a delightful children’s book! I can spend many happy hours perusing libraries and bookstores!! Your photography is fabulous…and I just love the way you have set the table with all of your special bunnies and Christmasy things!! Now….I have to go find myself some Carrot Cake! Or something!!
