I’ve spent a little time Harvesting this week. . .
Reaping some of Nature’s Bounty~
Sowing the ingredients for a Pumpkin Vase Centerpiece. . . a few clippings from the garden & fall grasses, along with Sweetgum branches for some leafy fall color. . .
Collecting Sunflowers, Mums, Daisies & Hypericum Berries from the Farmers Market as well as Apples, Kale & Swiss Chard to provide some leafy texture & green color~
Gathering my Harvest Hayride dishes~ along with some Indian Corn, Tiger Pumpkins and my amber goblets~ to provide a little crop of color to the soft black & white palette of the table covering & dishes. . .
My quilt/table covering that sowed hours of Halloween fun as a party to vibrant oranges, glittery purples & blacks is now reaping its reward and resting from all the festivities~ balanced by organic materials and enjoying the quieter & softer side of the season~

Beautiful. I love all the textures. Fall especially has so many textures! I thought of you yesterday! I have a pair of tortoiseshell vases that I am puzzled how to use in decorating. I would love to see how you would use them in my home. My daughter-in-law gave them to me.
I learn so many things from you that I tuck away. I haven’t done a tablescape in so long. It is hard to do a large table and I keep my leaves in my dining table and kitchen because they are heavy to move.
I can’t think of a prettier setting or a more lovely table to celebrate the end of October and beginning of November…most thankful you shared this with us. Gorgeous.

Just beautiful, Mary! Your fall tablescape has been the first one to make me think of the very first Thanksgiving. From the quilt to the indian corn, your table looks so authentic. Your harvest (centerpiece) is perfect and full of bounty. I can imagine the dishes and stemware packed away in a well-worn trunk, not sitting on the shelves at HomeGoods. What a lovely setting for a lunch or early dinner on one of our glorious autumn days! The autumn harvest china is so perfect for this tablescape, not to mention that centerpiece that you designed.

You’ve done a wonderful table once again :) This pumpkin centerpiece is just spectacular; it inspires me to try making one for my own table. Southern Living featured one in their October(?) issue this year. That was the first time I had seen that idea, but I don’t think theirs was any prettier than yours. I also love the quilt table covering for fall, and I ALWAYS love English transferware. These dishes have such nice names, too. Autumn Hayride and the Blacksmith — perfect. Fabulous table!!! I love the Indian corn at each place setting! I think a quilt as a tablecloth makes such a cozy table. A friend of mine made a beautiful arrangement for me in a pumpkin. She used flowers that she had dried from her garden. You can see it here:

The love gals and I think it is ashamed Thanksgiving is so often skipped and everyone dives right into Christmas. There were Christmas movies on last nihgt!! Well, at least there was something we could watch togehter besides football. This weekend we are havng 10 other folks over for a break and time ot focus on worship, prayer and the word. My prayer for this gatherng is to be refreshing and restful AND edifying as well as encouraging. I can’t wait! But there is lots to be done. Nothing like an event at your house to get things going! Cleaning and emptying 3 containers of wreaths, garland and other Thanksgiving festive decorations must be done first; well at least that is my aim.
