Milk and Cookies for Santa

I put some milk & cookies out for Santa in anticipation of his arrival. . .

Thanks to our annual cookie exchange, Santa has lots of variety this year . . .

Adorable and classic Spritz Cookies. . .

. . .or tray full of other varieties to satisfy his sweet tooth!

My vintage-inspired chalkware Santas, along with my Great Aunt’s Santa mugs & bowl made the trek to the table~

The varieties of cookies for Santa to choose from are as overwhelming for him, as they were for me, deciding on one to bake. . .

Fortunately I had some cookie inspiration from Nigella. . .

Still it was difficult to decide on one variety, so I chose two :)

Cranberry and White Chocolate Cookies

Christmas Chocolate Cookies

Red Velvet Cookies with White Chocolate Chunks~ a new Santa favorite~ easy and one that I’ve bookmarked to make! Recipe courtesy Whipperberry here

Jam Thumbprint Cookies, recipe courtesy Ina Garten here

And Seven Layer Magic Cookie Bars~ if you don’t have this recipe committed to memory, you can find it here :)

Thanks to everyone for baking their delicious cookies this year~ Santa is most appreciative!

And thanks to Annie, our gracious hostess for inviting us to her beautiful home!

The winner of Nigella Christmas is Pattie at Olla-Podrida! Congratulations Pattie~ email me with your address and I’ll get your cookbook in the mail!

Lucky Santa! What a lovely table and delicious looking cookies. It made me smile to see the mugs and plates, as I have the same ones. It looks as if we’re both Fitz & Floyd fans, which reminds me that I need to get these out. Happy Holidays, Mary!

I’m not sure what is more enticing–the Santa collection or the cookie assortment! Great vintage Santas trekking across your table, and red velvet cookies? I will have to give those a try! Thanks for sharing! Your photos are always so beautiful!

    Merry Christmas, Miss Mary!

I haven’t even started baking cookies yet…..Just returned from an emergency trip to the mainland and am still getting over jet lag.

As usual, the subject of your post does not disappoint. Gorgeous and delicious. When I had my kitchen shop in Miami I sold Fitz & Floyd and love so much of their stuff!

Will have to seriously look at those red velver cookies!

What a wonderful collection of Santas! I grew up with those mugs many years ago(yikes…they are now considered vintage!!!)and still love them. I also loved Jain’s remark “if only I were as tiny and small as I was back then”…I echo that remark.
    Very fun post!

If I wake up Christmas morning and find there are no presents under my tree, I will know it’s because Santa stopped at your house first!!! :-) Beautiful cookies presented on a beautiful table! I used to know how to make spritz cookies, but I haven’t tried in so long and no longer have the apparatus. That used to be so much fun! If I pick that back up again, though, I will rival Santa for tipping that scale! :-) Have a wonderful, safe, and loving Christmas!

  30. December 21, 2011 at 11:08 pm
