Valentine Greetings

I’m Greeting Valentine’s Day with Vintage-Inspired Wishes~ filled with Sweet Treats!

Sweet sentiments from GODIVA Gems Message Truffles ~ beg to be unwrapped. . .

And tempt~ so my surplus of chocolate  has been packaged in pails from World Market for party favors~

Instead of cookies, I’m hoping to find my glass filled with bubbles on Valentine’s Day :)

My lacy embossed plates, accompany my scallop-bordered runner, and delicate beaded-edge napkins in a celebration of romance. . .

. . . a feminine contrast to their previous appearance~ scaring up a Witches’ Brew and digging up literary inspiration~

A filigree silver footed dish is serving up strawberry & chocolate meringue cookies, also from World Market~

Paired with a token taste of Red Velvet for Valentine’s Day~

Leftover Red Velvet Cupcakes~ crumbled & topped with a  meringue cookie~ for a quick, mini parfait~

A fun and tasty way to use cupcakes slightly past their peak of freshness~ moistened and layered with chocolate & whipped cream~

Your table is spectacular! You are so creative. I love your table runner. It tempts me to pull out my old crochet hooks and get started. I love the candies all over, so cute. Great idea for the cupcakes. Everything is wonderful. So happy I found you.

    Mary,
Ah~h~h…so romantic…I’m swooning over EVERYTHING I see! That lace table runner was the first to catch my eye…the silver compote full of pink and white merignue cookies…and the red velvet parfait desserts. Set another plate…I’m on my way! Seriously, this is exquisitely done for Valentine’s Day, dear friend! Thank you for showing us just how wonderfully we can enjoy this holiday!
    Fondly,
    Pat

Beautiful and inspiring…A lovely and deliciously scrumptious table… and speaking of delicious and scrumptious…what in the world do you do with all the tempting goodies after one of your photo shoots? Surely you and hubby do not eat it all!?!

I love your Tuesday Morning leaf spoons… Alas, we have no Tuesday Morning store in the islands…!

I’ll bet the clerks at Home Goods, World Market and Tuesday Morning all know you on a first name basis. I NEVER find stuff like that when I go to those stores. Your plates are to swoon over (dishaholics do that) and your presentation is over-the-top as usual. My favorite blog.

  8. February 6, 2012 at 6:15 pm

Another charming tablescape! Your beautiful white china looks so romantic. I really love the beaded edged charger, too.

What a super idea for using up cupcakes (not that they would last long enough in my house)! They look so elegant in their tasting parfaits.

The sweet little tin baskets are the perfect topping for your plate stack. Who wouldn’t be excited to sit down at this fun Valentine table?

  9. February 6, 2012 at 6:35 pm

Mary, another stunning creation! You certainly know how to have fun. I’d love to tag along as your cart rolls down the aisles of these shops. You know just what to add into that cart to create amazing tablescapes. Love the idea of the red velvet parfaits ~ yummy! Lacey plates and even a heart on the flatware ~ this is a very romantic table. Your valentine guests are going to be swooning. ~ Sarah

Always so happy to pick your post out of a party, Mary (I do get my email notice, but don’t always get to see it during the day). The runner caught my eye immediately–it’s beautiful,as is the rest of the table. Just wondering if you have just one, eensy place still open for one more guest??? :)

Oh Mary…I am lovin’ all that vintage lace & luscious treats! I don’t suppose I’ll ever get to make those parfaits though, because there are NEVER leftover cupcakes around THIS house! LOL

Wow! Great table. The lace embossed plates, lace napkins and runner all work beautifully together. This is going to be a great, bubbly party. Have a lovely Valentines Day. ~CJ

  28. February 9, 2012 at 11:14 am

Ooh, weeeeeeeeeee!!!! This is beautiful!!! The lace runner is absolutely exquisite! Nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like pretty lace! That has got to be a booger bear to iron after laundering, though! The cookies in the champagne glass are so cute, but I hope you do get that bubbly come next week! Love the parfaits, too! Great way to use leftover dessert to make something that tastes great and looks spectacular! You KNOW I love the little dessert spoons!!! This is really, really pretty, Mary!

  29. February 9, 2012 at 11:26 am

You always have the most exquisite tables! I can tell you put so much thought into each one. I love the little pails and I haven’t bought the Godiva gems for Valentine’s Day – they are adorable with their little sayings. I think they are delicious and we have had them many times so I better get some of these for Valentine’s. Maybe make a trail with them for hubby!!!

This would be such a fun, sugary sweet table to sit down to! Wish I could be invited over every time!

What impresses me about your tables is that they are not just table settings but a finished product. One of these days you’re going to have to tell me how much time you spend creating such perfection!

  33. February 9, 2012 at 3:39 pm

Ok, I am totally drooling over not just your gorgeous table, but all of the yummy looking treats! I love the cute little pails at each setting, and the red velvet parfaits are such a wonderful (and pretty!) idea! What could be better than chocolate and champagne!!

Ooooooh, Mary! So pretty! I love the vintage feel and the combination of pink, red & white with shades of chocolate and mocha mixed in. That lacy white runner is my favorite thing!!! I love the rounded ends! I love the white on white dish combination, too, that allows all the color to come from the decor. What a great idea to top your dessert with those little meringue cookies! I may have to “steal” that idea for future dessert presentations! I like the little heart cookies in the glass, but you’re right…I’d have to shake those bad boys right on out of there in favor of something to tickle my nose! :-) So pretty!!!!!!!!

Love the red matlasse table cloth/ throw. Where did you find it?

    • January 8, 2014 at 12:23 pm

The coverlet came from Kohl’s :)

  50. February 13, 2014 at 8:32 am

Mmmm loving it all! I’ll take one of those buckets thank you!! I love those Ralph Lauren white plates. I picked some of those up because I like how they look like they are a thick embossed paper. Those left over cake desserts are my favorite!
