Easter Greetings

I’m Greeting Easter with a Flower-filled Basket, Bunny Egg-shaped Plates & Eggs with Easter Messages~

Dogwood blooms were added to the basket for their symbolism & significance of this holiday~

My basket is filled with a potted Azalea that can be planted in the garden, along with stems of hydrangea from the grocery store which are tucked in a water-filled bottle, secured and  concealed with moss. Pots of ivy are also tucked inside along with a few Easter Eggs.

I conditioned the Dogwood branches overnight in a bucket of warm water and floral food. You can leave your branches in a bucket and then tuck them in your basket at the last minute. Otherwise, you’ll want to use water picks to prevent the dogwood blooms from wilting.

You can find some helpful tips on conditioning floral materials and stems here.

The Easter Bunny visited me early and brought some new plates from Pottery Barn :)

And vintage-inspired Easter Eggs found at Michaels, open to hide treats inside~

What an eye you have for design! I have many of the same elements that you’ve used ( bunny plates, baskets, decorated Easter eggs, etc.) but just can’t arrange them as attractively as you.

Thank you for all the inspiring ideas you present. I often borrow ( er, ok…steal lol ) them. I wish I had even a thimble full of your talent!

Mary, you put me to shame. I’m so behind on the Easter thing. Need to decide on a table today and get some of my bunnies out to visit. Being out of town last week and all day yesterday, makes it difficult to get everything done.
Love the basket centerpiece, your sweet bunny dishes, and the vintage look eggs. It all makes a beautiful spring statement. I’ve been searching for a matelasse tablecloth. Each time I see yours I smile. It is the perfect accent for a table.
Happy Easter, dear friend. ~ Sarah

Mary, it’s a great tip to condition the Dogwood branches in warm water and floral food. Our dogwood tree is about to bloom so this is perfect timing. I love the sweet centerpiece and bunny dishes! Happy Easter!

That basket is so unbelievably beautiful filled with all those fresh flowers, and your dogwood really looks fantastic, Mary! The blossoms are so plump and fresh! Gorgeous! Of course, you KNOW I love the table setting! The egg-shaped bunny plates are just fabulous, and all the bunnies you have on the table to complement them are terrific!!! I hope you and yours enjoy a safe, fun and blessed Easter weekend!

How beautiful! I love Dogwood, my mom used to have them all over. For some reason, they don’t flourish here. What wonderful eye candy you offer us, everything is so lovely! I have the big sister to your little antropologie glasses, and you know I didn’t get them there! :)
Your bunny plates are so pretty!
Mary, thanks for linking to Let’s Dish, and have a wonderful Easter!

  20. April 5, 2012 at 10:22 am

Mary, this is stunning. We lost our pink dogwood in the October blizzard and I am missing it. It was visible through our bedroom window! I saw that flatware in HG and passed–now I am sorry as it looks so pretty on this spring table. Thanks for the link on conditioning flowers. Hydrangea are very hard when they are fresh, and I think some flowering trees are hard too. I must admit I never tried the dogwood! I also love the touch of the two bunnies. Have a very happy Easter! Linda

The dogwood is beautiful! I have to say this is the first time I have truly looked at it with new eyes. Your table is absolutely gorgeous and so welcoming. After admiring your beautiful tablescape, I am having second thoughts about going out for Easter brunch.

  36. April 7, 2012 at 11:06 am

Here in Houston we don’t see too many dogwood blooms, but by the time we return to Maine the ones in our yard will just be starting to bloom which is such a treat. I’ll try your conditioning tips and see how I fare with them on a table.

so pretty mary, i love your easter egg plates, just darling! you have so many fun pieces~

  45. April 13, 2012 at 11:12 pm

Mary, your table setting was beautiful. It celebrated spring, it represented the meaning of Easter, and included the little ones with the darling Easter plates and vintage inspired eggs. Your floral arrangement was gorgeous, colors were so nice together, and nothing says spring like dogwood, hydrangea, ivy. I hope you and your family had a loving, blessed Easter Sunday. I know you said the vintage inspired eggs came from Micheals, which are long gone by now with after-Easter sale, would you remember the brand so I could do some investigating for a headstart for next year? Thanks for sharing.
