Flower Fix

What’s a girl to do when she needs a Flower Fix,

with temps in the triple digits

and there is nothing to

be had at the garden center until fall?

When it’s much too hot to garden~

and pots of annuals, watered twice a day,

are struggling in the heat?

 

 I turned to

 Mr. Marshal’s Flower Book

in the comfort of air conditioning~

Where I can pick a bouquet

from the pages, while sipping

from Helianthus blooms

on a glass~

And enjoy some sunflowers

from Trader Joe’s indoors

on a flower-filled platter~

I was thrilled to get an unexpected

Flower Fix

from an antique mall last week!

And find a 95-piece-bouquet,

ripe for the picking~

At a bargain price of what

the 14 knives alone

would have been at Replacements.

And the floral equivalent of paying for a single rose

and receiving 2 dozen long-stemmed ones instead :)
