With All Hallows’ Eve approaching,
I’m at the table with some spine-chilling
Cloche Encounters~
All Hallows’ Eve sounds scarier to me than Halloween~
in contrast this is not the
Jolly Halloween table of last week. . .
No sweet treats or candy skewers are offered up in my vases as on my Halloween Treats table~ instead they are holding LED candles, illuminating haunting images. . .
The tablecloth is a ghostly sheet, cloaked in several gauzy and creepy fabric layers~ affordably scared up from Dollar Tree.
The dreadful images of bones, skulls, bats, a skeletal snake and rats, are all carefully contained behind glass~ under plates, cloches, and in vases.
My spooky graphics are courtesy of The Graphics Fairy~ (enter Halloween in the search box for images) and proceed with caution. . .
Dying for attention, a couple of guests
have been seated at the table~
their holographic portraits and appearance,
morphing right before our eyes . . .
. . .which might be explained by the wine we are serving,
Dearly Beloved Forever Red, or is that Forever Dead?
available at Trader Joe’s.
All eyes are watching you, and on the lookout for a few spiders that have escaped from the cloches~
Silver chargers from World Market were much too shiny and bright for this haunting tableau, so creepy fabric from Dollar Tree was sacrificed and cut to layer~ providing a shroud over the chargers.
Sinister skeletal hands from Target have previously held munchkin pumpkins, graveyard as well as witch hat cupcakes in their evil clutches, and are serving as napkin holders~ offering napkins to use, if you dare. . .

You know me, this table is going to be something I love. What a fabulous use of all those spooky papers. I love them in the cloches with candles and under the plates and of course I love the black and white!!!! Each little detail is amazing. (I have to admit that it was fun not doing tables for a couple of months as it does take a lot of time and this one took a ton of time and effort!). I love your closing detail – the skeletal hand with the napkin draped over it!

This is WAY cool, Mary! I love how you used the creepy fabric to obscure the shiny chargers. GREAT call there! I love the items you display under your cloches, too. The books add a LOT to the character of the table. This is really fabulously done! A little spookiness never hurt a table when it’s done this well!!!

I LOVE this table, the antique-y looking graphics in particular, and I thank you for the tip on The Graphics Fairy. My oldest son would love this, so I’m going to try to come up with something similar for our next Game Night. How did I miss that wine when I was at Trader’s Joe’s? i still have about $15 left on my TJ’s birthday gift card, so I’m going to have to go back!

Hi Mary, I am at once shuddering and drawn to this eerie table! It is enticing in a very sick way, but those creepy crawly things need to be trapped more securely under those cloches before I will sit. And that hand is terrifying, but I have an urge to touch it! I can hear the haunting music in the background and feel the cool breezes whispering past…My house is dark and I’m here alone…I think I need a glass of that wine. Now! Linda

This is a great All Hallow’s Eve table! I really like that you have added the spooky touches to your existing table ware. Draping the gauze over the too bright chargers is a brilliant idea! You have shown that by collecting one or two specific items each year (like the hands), you can then add them to create a truly imaginative table. The spooky prints inside the cloches are a great idea. Thanks for sharing your creativity and giving us ideas on how to have a fun table!
