Cedar Linings

The weather has been unpredictable and typical for winter here~ 60 degrees for a few days, then temps dropping to the 20s & 30s, thunderstorms, then a welcome snow shower. . .

This cedar tree, a casualty of a thunderstorm

and high winds came down,

 thankfully missing the house.

Biding my time until spring,

I looked for the cedar lining

and to our downed tree~

And added some cut cedar for a little evergreen

freshness to perk up the fireplace~

To help add a little cozy warmth

and fragrance while it’s still cold outside~

A new-to-me Goodwin’s Ironstone pitcher,

 found at a favorite antique mall, is ready

to hold flowers or cedar until spring~

I was drawn to her full-figure

and generous curves :)

 Around the same time,

I also found this knife with bird

that I’ve been trying to identify~

The knife was nesting in a bowl with other silverplate,

 endangered from the other knives

 and flatware, of becoming scratched~

Like a good conservationist, I rescued this endangered

bird and brought it home :)

It’s marked anchor Rogers AA, Ricki Jill

identified it as a trout server!

But no luck yet as to the pattern.

And I added some cedar to a basket

on the door of my Potting Shed to

 accompany  a brown transferware plate~

Next to a winter window box~
