Simply Springing Forward with Waterlogue

Waterlogue (3)

 A little Springing Forward Fun

with watercolors from photos

 with Waterlogue . . .

Waterlogue allows you to create a watercolor painting

from a photo on your phone with the push of a button,

instead of a paintbrush. . .

Waterlogue (7)

The Waterlogue app is $2.99 and compatible

with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

I don’t generally buy apps but this was one

was as hard to resist as a bunch of daffodils :)

Painted in Waterlogue

To say it’s a little addictive

is an understatement. . .

Painted in Waterlogue

These photos were in my blog media library rather than on my phone. I saved them to my iPad and used the app to ‘paint’ them. You can then save your watercolored photos and share them with the app.

I don’t usually buy apps either, but I think I’m going to have to make an exception here. These photos are charming.

I don’t have this app, but I would use it because watercolors frustrate me. That’s why I paint in oils! Fun pictures! But 5:30 came waaaaaay to early this morning. Yuck!

I’m in love with that little clock! can you tell me where you got it? thanks

    • March 10, 2014 at 7:41 am

Hi Maureen, The clock is from Timeworks from my retail days. I’ve had it about 15 years :)

That is one addicting app! I want to get some things turned to canvas. Such a cheap way for some original art. I still have about five clocks to change.

Good morning an hour early today, Mary! I always love “fall-ing back” but I’m not so fond of “spring-ing ahead!” I am intrigued by this app and although I rarely purchase one I will definitely add this to my phone or iPad. Your waterlogued shots really do look like watercolors! Linda

The app does magic, Mary! My son is giving me watercolor lessons and this app does it instantly!! xo

i see us as twins again, i would adore this app, if i could steal my husbands ipad… i am to old to enjoy on my cell, but i am wild over all your new art~

which means i love the old art photos too ;-)

  10. March 10, 2014 at 8:34 am

I love love love this app, I’ve only had it for a couple weeks and never have enough time to play with it! Endless possibilities, and I want to use it for laying out paintings too. As I’ve told you before, you are an artist with your camera Mary, and now doubly so! Looking forward for the Spring fun!

I loved seeing your gorgeous photos in “watercolor”…Have you actually had them printed?…I love the one with the “iconic” adirondack chair by the lake…If it were in a gallery, I would buy it!!! Glad you are having fun with this app!

Just gorgeous, just waiting for PicMonkey to get in gear with this!! Sadly I don’t use my iphone or ipad for much picture taking. those daffodils are amazing!!

  14. March 10, 2014 at 9:24 am

Would love to have this for my ipad. I use the Photoscape watercolor option but it doesn’t have the same effect.

p.s. that little clock is adorable :)

Hi Paula, Yes you can print original watercolors with this app! ;)

  16. March 10, 2014 at 9:51 am

Mary, isn’t this fun? I don’t have many apps on my phone, but this one I use frequently. It is addictive. My husband even bought it for his iPad. Love, love, love your daffodils. I’ve got the clocks reset, but it will take awhile for my body to reset. At least we woke to some sunshine today. The weekend was so wet and cold, all I wanted to do was hibernate.
Happy Spring! Looking forward to your next post full of inspiration.

  17. March 10, 2014 at 9:51 am

Any one of these Waterlogue images could hang in my home! Beautiful!

  18. March 10, 2014 at 9:54 am

Beautiful Mary! I love this app and have wanted to play with it for months now.

Great way to start my day seeing your beauty. Daffodils make my heart sing!

I bought this app a few weeks ago and am looking forward to playing with it! Your pictures are gorgeous! Happy Spring!

  20. March 10, 2014 at 11:10 am

I think I would spend entirely too much time using it! Love your pictures!

I will have to try this app. I have seen Kim’s pictures, she LOVE this app. I love your pictures. It would be so neat to have one made into a canvas for the wall!!!

  26. March 10, 2014 at 6:39 pm

How fun!!! I don’t use any of those iPhone, iPad, and iPod gadgets so won’t be able to use this app! Wish it was available through the computer like PhotoShop!!!

Leo had the app on his iPad and he’s having a lot of fun with it. You could definitely sell some of your amazing Waterlogued photos!
