Easter Blues: Hydrangeas, Bunnies & Mikasa Jet Set Blue

DSC_4977-001

I’m celebrating Easter with Blues. . .

Hydrangeas, Bunnies, and

Mikasa Jet Set Blue Dinnerware!

DSC_4964-001

Mikasa Jet Set Blue is versatile for casual or formal dining,

accented with striated lines that add a subtle textural detail,

and rimmed with a band in three shades of blue.

When I first saw this dinnerware with its clean lines,

I envisioned setting sail with a nautical table

with lanterns, buoys, and accents of red.

DSC_4925-001

But I moored my plans for a nautical table,

waiting for warmer waters

when boating season is under way :)

DSC_4884-001

While this dinnerware is not what you would expect to find

on your Easter table, I had some hydrangea

inspiration from a pair of bunnies. . .

DSC_4912-001

. . . that hopped to the table, begging to be paired with a

hydrangea tablecloth, egg cups and bunny napkin rings.

DSC_4906-001

Appropriate for an Easter Blues table

with Easter on its way!

A Ryland wine glass offers an unexpected and unique

square shape, crafted from European lead-free crystal. . .

. . .and offering a little porch railing reflection :)

And bunnies are coupled with a duo of napkins, a solid

blue, paired with a print that matches the tablecloth.

Eggs cups are filled with egg shells as vases to hold a

bloom of hydrangea at each place setting~ an easy &

fun detail for a spring or Easter table, taking care to crack

your eggs and saving your shells.

And a basket is filled with hydrangeas,

hyacinth bulbs, ivy, moss and eggs

for an Easter basket centerpiece for the table.

Such a beautiful table! The hydrangeas bunnies were so unique. Did you make them or are they available to buy for us less talented people? Love the egg cup idea-will definitely duplicate that. Thank you for your wonderful inspiration!

Beautiful, I love blue and white ! The bunnies adorable, and the square glasses so neato :) I look forward to you using them in nautical theme, a big hit for summer.

Again, your site is my favorite !! the ones that always share their pretty homes makes me feel like I always have to be changing or updating, and then I end up not really having a style just a bunch of mixed decorating, and I am trying to be content with what I have !! But setting a beautiful inviting table or serving a yummy dish that is a winner !! Thanks MarY for inspiring me !!

Wish the bunny would hop on over to my table! A beautiful welcome to spring.

I agree, I thought nautical when I first saw it. You have done a beautiful job picking out an Easter outfit for it! It looks beautiful flanked by hydrangeas and bunnies. Happy Easter to you, Mary!

Darling! Those hydrangea bunnies are the sweetest. I brought home blue hydrangeas yesterday instead of the usual white I’m drawn to. You are inspiring me to set a table of my own. I recently found the cutest bunny napkin rings so I need to get them to a table. ‘-)
Welcome home! Hope you had a fabulous trip where ever you went….. S

I am in awe of the bunny hydrangeas. WOW WOW WOW!
The Mikasa is pretty, too, especially with your pretty table linens. This is one of my favorites, Mary!

  22. April 14, 2014 at 4:20 pm

Darling bunny. I just knew you glued petals on a bunny and was glad to find out they are available at Hobby Lobby! I also love your egg cups, napkin rings and tablecloth. They are perfect for the Mikasa Jet Set Blue dinnerware. Your table is very pretty.

  23. April 15, 2014 at 12:06 am

Your table is beautiful! I love the bunnies.

  24. April 16, 2014 at 9:32 am

Beautiful bunny-inspired table! I love those cute hydrangea rabbits and think I will have to get me a few. Enjoy your Easter.

  25. April 16, 2014 at 7:27 pm

I love those Hydrangea bunnies, and I think your table is just lovely. I am a big fan of taking non-traditional routes, and you did so just beautifully. I bought some cute Easter things last year on sale. I really wish I would have remembered where I put them because, otherwise, I have nothing for an Easter table, so really struggled this year. Hopefully the sun will come out so that I can get the results photographed soon. Happy Easter, Mary.

  26. April 16, 2014 at 9:55 pm

Correction: This is EXACTLY what I would expect to find on YOUR Easter table because you don’t get trapped inside that proverbial box!!! It’s wonderful to see so many tables this year that are mixing it up a little. I am all for tradition, but I think we have to color outside the lines every once in awhile just to keep our sanity. With that gorgeous bunny as your inspiration piece, I think this deserves an A+!

LOVE the shape of that stemware! It’s so unusual. It makes sense, though. Seems like I’d be inclined to dribble a lot less with a flat rim like that! :-)

Happy Easter, Mary! You’ve sure created a Happy Easter for a lot of people with this gorgeous table!!!

    So pretty!
