Beautiful pics Mary, looks very peaceful! You have a heron, I have noticed a hawk in my back yard quite often. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a pic of him one day:@) Congrats to Rett, I’m sure she’ll be thrilled!

  2. February 1, 2012 at 7:53 am

I AM thrilled!! Thank you SO much, Mary! I just finished sewing the binding on my little chickadee quilt. I can’t decide if I’ll use it as a table topper or a wallhanging, but either way, it will look DARLING with the chickadee tea set near by.

These grey…or is it ‘gray’…photos resemble our Ohio weather so much. I miss the sun! You’ve captured some very soothing shots that depict the calm, quiet that precedes the riotous colors of Spring. I can’t wait!

Thank you again….I’ll send you my address immediately.
    Hugs,
    Rett

I enjoyed your photos this morning – some of them should be made into cards, Mary. Just beautiful – haunting, really.

  11. February 1, 2012 at 10:42 am

Oh, how perfect for Rett! She will love this set. I can see her serving tea for her friends or Miss C. Lovely, lovely, lovely! The misty shots are so peaceful and comforting. Something about this type of weather on the water. We’ve had a mix of gray days, some rainy. It’s been nice, but it has been a strange winter. Cool, but not cold.
Looking forward to CC on FFT. Hugs ~ Sarah

Congratulations to Rett! Love the foggy photos. I think fog is romantic …!!! I like it .. as long as I don’t have to get out on the road. Magnificent heron!

  15. February 1, 2012 at 11:54 am

Beautiful photos, Mary. Where I live we have 300+ days of sunshine, and I have learned to appreciate an occasional grey day. They allow us to feel blue for awhile and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Your heron is quite handsome, and because he could live anywhere, it just shows how special your lake is. Thanks for sharing!

  16. February 1, 2012 at 12:17 pm

Hi, Mary. Through your keen eye and skilled photography you’ve helped us to see the beauty in gray days–thank you. Rett is going to make such a nice home for those chickadees! I’m really happy that’s where they’re going! :) ~Zuni
