No Matter Where I Roam…

I was fortunate to visit Vancouver, BC the beginning of May with my husband, to attend a business conference~

Our first trip, enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The highlight of our trip was visiting The Butchart Gardens~

You can tiptoe through the tulips, here.

We also spent a few days in Seattle, to break up our trip~

Home long enough to unpack, do laundry, and recover from jet lag. . .

I was invited for a long weekend getaway to the

NC mountains with the girls for a reunion~

Lots of beautiful scenery, fun reminiscing,

and wine :)  with old friends~

But no matter where I may roam~

There’s still no place like home :)

I so appreciate your visits & comments!

I’m looking forward to slowing down and getting back in my routine :)

Thank you for your visit, I’m joining:

The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays~

Little Red House for Mosaic Monday~

A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday~

Wherever you roam, home is where your camera goes… from sea to shining lake or stream, you truly live the dream~

I LOOOOVE the mountains of NC and have been there several times. If we didn’t have children, we might have settled there. Have never been to Washington. Maybe one day. Your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them. XO, Pinky

I agree with your sentiment, Mary. It looks like you had a LOVELY trip to the Pacific Northwest and to the NC mountains. But you’re right, at the end of the day, there’s no place like home. :)

So enjoyed sharing your travels in your photos. What fun you are having you busy traveler you! Did the dogs go too? We’ll be in the pacific northwest in a week or two on our way to an alaskan cruise for 10 days. Can hardly wait. It is all so beautiful up there! Thanks for the wonderful post. Loved it all!

What a lovely trip you had – but you’re right….there’s just no place like home.

Looks like you’ve had an adventurous May! Great pics of pretty places but I have to agree, there’s no place like home:@)

I agree, Mary. It’s always good to go, but better to come home. Enjoyed seeing all your beautiful photos of your travels.

Enjoyed the mosaics of your trips. It is so nice to see new scenery and do different things but when you return home your home embraces you with comfort and delight.

I love the Pacific Northwest. I haven’t been to Vancouver yet, but I’ll get there. Seattle is one of my favorite places — so much to see and do! Loved all your images. Looks like you had a great time in the Northwest and the reunion in North Carolina. Such beautiful scenery! Welcome home!

Oh, your pictures are so gorgeous! I completely agree with your philosophy on travel. I love to travel and find it very enriching, but there is something about returning to the familarity of your own home and own bed that is hard to beat. We also miss our beloved dogs, so our homecomings are filled with wet doggie kisses and lots of hugs.

There is no place like home. The fur child on the dock is so darling I could eat him up….yum.

Welcome back home! I’ll bet Chloe and Gracie were glad to see you. :)

Mary, all your images are gorgeous, but those NC ones made my heart flutter. And how cute is that white terrycloth puppy waiting on your bed? Glad you had a good trip. The NW is beautiful country, but I know the girls were thrilled to have you back at home lakeside.

I see you’ve had your traveling shoes on too. You are so right about no place like home. As much as I love to travel I always love coming home. You have traveled to some lovely places. I enjoyed your beautiful photos. I’ll have to add the PNW to my destination list.

It seems you’ve had your traveling shoes on too, so welcome home! As much as I love to travel I enjoy “coming home”, the best part of a trip. Your photos are beautiful and you’ve traveled to beautiful destinations. After viewing your photos I think I’m going to have to add the PNW to my travel destinations.

I love this post!!! Chloe and Gracie are always a hit in my book!! You are fortunate to have found a good sitter for your bichons. If we don’t take the RV with the girlz, we just don’t go! There is a part of me that misses our fabulous vacations. Not that I don’t like the RV, but it is a bit different! Our last trip to Bermuda was in 2004!

    Hugs to the girls!!

I’d love to take a NW vacation like this, Mary! It is definitely on my bucket list. You made beautful collages from all your photos. Enjoy being back home again and all the love from Chloe and Gracie!

Love, love, love the photos of your fluffy babies! Sounds like you’ve been scanning the globe. Gad you were home long enough to bring us that spectacular Memorial Day celebration.

It’s always fun to get away, but I’m with you as there’s really no place quite like HOME!!

  27. May 27, 2012 at 1:14 pm

When I saw the photo link on The Tablescaper, I thought you were going to teach us how to do that towel fold. It’s adorable but not near as adorable as your sweet puffs of fluff waiting for you at home!

  28. May 27, 2012 at 8:21 pm

Lovely images from your travels. And I just love your cute little puppy dogs. It is wonderful to travel but also nice to come home. Happy Sunday!

  29. May 27, 2012 at 8:29 pm

I live in the mountains of NC so some of your photos look familiar! I sure love the horses made out of branches in your mosaic! How unique!

How great is that. You were in my neck of the woods and I recognize many of your photos from B.C. and especially from Seattle. Then you headed to N.C. where our daughter is living right now…but not in the mountains. Have a great Memorial Day…

  31. May 27, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Beautiful pictures, just beautiful. There’s nothing like traveling but you are right, there’s no place like home.

  32. May 28, 2012 at 12:48 am

I have been to both Seattle and Butchart Gardens. Wonderful places to visit. I agree with you. I love traveling, but I always miss my home and gardens. Dorothy was right, “There’s No Place Like Home”!

Wow, that looks a great place, somewhere I will never visit except thankfully through blogs. I remember when I went on a cruise up the Nile, when I went back to my cabin after breakfast every morning there was always a surprise on the bed, one day a swan made with towels, another day petals and lots more. I must look out the photographs in an album, thank you for reminding me. I love all those nice little extras. Have a great week, Jackie in Surrey, UK.

You’re right….there’s no place like home, whether wet or drydocked. But travelling brings you so many opportunities to discover new things and take great pictures like these.

It does sound like a wonderful trip! Beautiful mosaics.
