Regatta Boat Drinks

We spent some time boating and enjoying a couple of regattas on the lake recently~ admiring the boats & colored sails.

It floats my boat to spy new and clever boat names to add to my collection :)

Last year during our week-long stay at Harbor Island, we dined at Sweetgrass Restaurant & Bar at the Dataw Island Marina~  where the cleverly concocted cocktails are inspired by boats at the marina.

You can see that post here.

Now I have additional fun with boat names~ virtually mixing and shaking cocktails that the names conjure.

Did I mention that I was easily entertained?

I’d always thought it would be fun to come up with OPI nail polish names and paint colors too :)

Shenanigans~

Coast along with loose sheets and flapping sails with a smooth blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey, Kahlua, and Half & Half. A few Dark Chocolate Shavings for garnish are guaranteed  to keep you in high spirits.

Old Blue~

Come alongside with a refreshing mixture of Blue Curacao liqueur and cranberry juice~ ideal for sailing the blue.

Dancing Bull~

A version of Bloody Bull, made with ABSOLUT Peppar Vodka, that will make your taste buds dance as you dance across the water.

Fly Baby~

A mixture of rum, tequila, vodka, triple sec and Pina Colada mix. A splash of grenadine gives this concoction a slight pinkish color and your ticket to fly towards the sunset.

Ace Trumper~

Heave to with this ace in the hole concoction of made with golden rum, white creme de cacao, lime juice, and simple syrup.

Stressless~

A Boozy Watermelon Rosemary Lemonade~ perfect for summer and a drink I’d like to add to our summer cocktail rotation! The B vitamins in the watermelon and calming effects of the rosemary (not to mention the gin :) are certain to make you stress less and your troubles drift away~

Who comes up with those OPI nail polish names, anyway? Love this post with the libations inspired by boat names. A Dancing Bull sounds good right now.

I always preferred to cruise, while my husband had the racing spirit, so I’ll just coast along with a smooth Shenanigans, please. Your collection of clever names would make a great book, Mary. Add in some of your drink recipes and you have an even wider audience. I miss being on the water at times and all our weekends of sailing the lake. Fun to see these crystal clear images! ~ Sarah

As pretty as a flower garden on a windy day – the blue sky, coloured sails and bobbing on the water!
    I’ll have a Stressless, please!

The Old Blue and the Fly Baby sound GOOD to me! Thanks for the inspiration. Since my name is Pinky and my maiden name was Martini (yes, ut’s true), my hubby makes me a “Pinky Peach Martini. It is yummy!!!! XO, P
