over Labor Day weekend~
I cast my net and reeled in stoneware
courtesy of Blue Crab Bay~
Buoys mark where we
place our crab traps~
And a galvanized bucket serves as our catch~
filled with a net, glass fishing floats,
rope and shells as a centerpiece.
Instead holding napkins, crab napkin rings
(Williams-Sonoma) are climbing
buoys, glasses, and clinging to the net~
Glasses are fitted with woven
sea grass sleeves (HomeGoods)
and molt like crabs~
shedding their sleeves for washing :)
Rattan chargers have a gray wash (Target),
appearing sun-faded like dock boards,
adding texture and a nautical feeling~ 
Flatware, resembling rope (World Market)
is paired with soft beige
nautical striped napkins (Pottery Barn)~
I’ve been familiar with Blue Crab Bay products since my retail days, and was reacquainted with them through Claire Murray’s book, Women and the Sea, and the story of Blue Crab Bay founder, Pamela Barefoot~ yes, her real name :)

Tablescaping Tip #1~
If you don’t want to pull out the ironing board, or like me, hate to iron~ use Downy Wrinkle Releaser on your tablecloth, runner, or napkins.
Catch & Release the wrinkles by just spraying and smoothing the wrinkles with your hands!
Heavy wrinkles or creases may need a couple of applications~ quick & easy and no iron required!
Tip #2~
If you haven’t peeked in Kohl’s, they are a great source for dinnerware, flatware, and linens and brands like Mikasa, Fiestaware, Oneida, and Food Network brand! I usually stroll through once a week and found this tablecloth reduced from $34.99 to $6.99.

When it comes to your tables, it’s hard to pick a favorite, however, this one ranks high on my list and it doesn’t even have a quilt!
What a gorgeous table setting. I’ve long been a fan of Blue Crab Bay, my mother-in-law’s momma works for the company, actually! Am totally loving this new stoneware they’re offering too, have seen it at my local restaurant supply and have been eying it. Glad I found ya, will definitely be back!

Another awesome table of course, but I was jumping up and down when I read your tip about using Catch & Release for wrinkles ! When I iron things generally look worse, so can’t wait to try this!

Your Blue Crab tablescape brings back wonderful childhood memories of my sister, brother and I catching blue crabs off the jetty in the Florida Keys, where my aunt and uncle lived..we could catch buckets of them..so much fun and fond memories….so thanks Mary, for reminding me of those wonderful days in the Florida Keys with your gorgeous tablescape. Not only do you present us always with spectacular, creative tablescapes, but so many great recipes and tips for us to enjoy. I use the Downy Wrinkle release ALL the time, it is fabulous. I also take a small travel bottle when I go somewhere. It sure doesn’t LOOK like you were crabby, the table is beautiful as always. Your narrative is always so imaginative, you could have a second career as a writer! I love that FREE tablecloth but never seem to have good luck at Kohl’s for some reason. You create like you breathe all the time in such a delightful way. You really have an eye to catch the bargains, put them all together in a pretty, fun and interesting way. Also, to pass on those great tips like the Downy Wrinkle release spray. I must look for that.

Mary, this tablescape is just fantastic. Love the crab dinnerware, the tablecloth, the floats, everything! Since we moved inland, I’m really missing my crab. And one of my favorite things to eat is soft shell crab. Thanks for sharing your tip about the Downy product. I had not seen it, but I will be on a mission to find some. I don’t iron much since I retired!
Such a great table Mary. I am very fond of the nautical theme! Twenty years ago, I bought a t-shirt at a crab shack in Florida that said “Don’t Worry….Be Crabby”. Love the crab plates and napkin rings! Your tablecloth was a real bargain ;o)
Get outta here! This is great!!! Perfectly balanced! I have never been crabbing before (is that even the correct term?), but this would be a great enticement! Since that is stoneware, does that automatically make those blue stone crabs? :-) I love the design, and I love the little matching bowls for the dips! I have heard about that Downy wrinkle releasing formula, but I have never tried it. I think I’ll pick up a bottle to try out just for kicks. I don’t mind ironing when I’m at home with lots of good stuff on the DVR to catch up on, but I can still think of several instances where it would come in very handy! I haven’t ever really shopped much at Kohl’s except for Ramon’s work clothes. (Such good prices that I don’t freak out so much when he comes home with blood or Betadine on them!) Every time I peeked in the home department, the prices seemed exorbitant to me. With all the discounts and coupons, though, it’s definitely worth it!!!!!!! Thanks for that tip!

This is my idea of the perfect tablescape! I love everything about it. I have been taking a break from doing table settings and you inspire me to dig out my seashell dishes, add my turquoise floats and some beach glass and make my table look pretty again. I would love to have been a guest at this table. You have a great eye for detail.
