Dogwoods are showing the first blush of autumn color after a long, hot summer and FALL is in the air this week~ with lower humidity and night-time temperatures in the 50’s!
There will be plenty more hot weather for us in September and even October, but I’m primed for fall!
With the hint of fall in the air, I am ready for ALL things FALL~ fires, hoodies, blankets, picnics, and tailgates!
The promise of cooler temperatures has whet my appetite for apples, pumpkins & harvests~ so I pulled a few tablescapes from the archives.
What a WONDERFUL thing to wake up to!!!!!!! I did miss one of these I think so am going back for more eye candy. I CAN have candy in the morning, right??:):) It is official, we HAVE A SIGNED CONTRACT on this house so now I can REALLY pack. Gotta get BUSY, only have 2 weeks. Thanks so much for revisiting ll this beauty you created for us. XOXO, Pinky
I couldn’t comment on the JEEP tailgating post so came back here. That was awesome! I LOVE THAT JEEP! Love the blue color but how YOU did it was amazing. I hope your (upset) hubby realizes what a LUCKY guy he is to have you! Loved every bit of that post. XO
Oh my goodness gracious!!! I just found your beautiful blog and can’t stop looking! I’m going through your back posts and relishing in your gorgeous projects, photos and arrangements.
I also live on the water, so I relate to the nautical. beach type decor.
Each and every one is a classic, Mary! I think my favorite was the one with the picnic in the back of the pickup….just perfect!!! If I had a truck, I’m sure I’d be driving to remote areas to just hang out and picnic from the back like that! Kinda hard to do it with a sedan! :-) It’s hot again here today. We hit the mid-90s yesterday and may do likewise today. Cooler temps moving in for the weekend, though. Hooray!!!

Mary, no one does it better. This post is full of fall inspiration. I’m going to start getting some fall elements out and about around here. After seeing all your fabulous images, I can’t wait any longer. Thank you for always providing a feast for the eyes. ~ Sarah
I’ve just copy/pasted your url to my blog roll to follow there. Always love visiting you at the lake. I so so need a lake house. How do you like Lake Norman? I’ve checked out the Hickory area in search of the perfect lake town. We have a getaway in the Smoky Mountains and I think I need to switch to lake living. Love it and so will my crew (husband and doggies). Stop by sometime.
Cheers! Rita @May Days
Sheesh you need to have your own magazine! These photos are so crisp ans clear and the tablescapes are out of this world! Please come link up to Centerpiece Wed and share all this eye candy with us!
I am being dragged kicking and screaming into fall. As much as I love the colors, the season is so fleeting and our Midwest winters are way too long. I will admit to loving early fall, however, and your lovely photos exemplify everything positive about the season!
Hello, you often have such beautiful quilts as tableclothes. I would be afraid someone would spill. Are you brave or are these just pretend meals etc. Whatever the answer is I am loving them just the same. I look forward to your next tablescape. Lisa

Your applesauce pear cake looks spectacular, Mary! Thank you for commenting on my warm pimento cheese dip. We were in Asheville on August 18th-23rd. I picked up the cookbook at the Tupelo Honey Cafe and put it back, too. However, once I got home, I regretted it and ordered it from Amazon. I’m going to be sharing more recipes from it.
Mary, entering your blog is like opening the very BEST lifestyle magazine that money can buy! I lose myself in your wonderful photographs and dream of living in such a beautiful world as yours!
