Fall is in the Air!

Fall is my favorite time of year!

Dogwoods are showing the first blush of autumn color after a long, hot summer and FALL is in the air this week~ with lower humidity and night-time temperatures in the 50’s!

There will be plenty more hot weather for us in September and even October, but I’m primed for fall!

With the hint of fall in the air, I am ready for ALL things FALL~  fires, hoodies, blankets, picnics, and tailgates!

The promise of cooler temperatures has whet my appetite for apples, pumpkins & harvests~ so I pulled a few tablescapes from the archives.

Click on the links if you’d like

Each and every one is a classic, Mary! I think my favorite was the one with the picnic in the back of the pickup….just perfect!!! If I had a truck, I’m sure I’d be driving to remote areas to just hang out and picnic from the back like that! Kinda hard to do it with a sedan! :-) It’s hot again here today. We hit the mid-90s yesterday and may do likewise today. Cooler temps moving in for the weekend, though. Hooray!!!

  24. September 13, 2012 at 9:41 am

I’ve just copy/pasted your url to my blog roll to follow there. Always love visiting you at the lake. I so so need a lake house. How do you like Lake Norman? I’ve checked out the Hickory area in search of the perfect lake town. We have a getaway in the Smoky Mountains and I think I need to switch to lake living. Love it and so will my crew (husband and doggies). Stop by sometime.
    Cheers! Rita @May Days

I am being dragged kicking and screaming into fall. As much as I love the colors, the season is so fleeting and our Midwest winters are way too long. I will admit to loving early fall, however, and your lovely photos exemplify everything positive about the season!

Hello, you often have such beautiful quilts as tableclothes. I would be afraid someone would spill. Are you brave or are these just pretend meals etc. Whatever the answer is I am loving them just the same. I look forward to your next tablescape. Lisa

Your applesauce pear cake looks spectacular, Mary! Thank you for commenting on my warm pimento cheese dip. We were in Asheville on August 18th-23rd. I picked up the cookbook at the Tupelo Honey Cafe and put it back, too. However, once I got home, I regretted it and ordered it from Amazon. I’m going to be sharing more recipes from it.
