Ghostly Spirits & Halloween Peeps

In anticipation of some Ghostly Peeps Fun,

I went in search of Halloween PEEPS®

but these apparitions were nowhere to be found. . .

I searched my favorite haunts~ Target, the grocery store, Walmart. . .it wasn’t that they had disappeared, rather that they had never made an appearance at all~

I was happily able to scare up some at CVS this year!

With PEEPS® in hand, I thought some

Ghostly Spirits were in order. . .

A S’mores Peep-Tini~ a spirited adult beverage and

a martini version of S’mores with a

PEEPS® Ghost marshmallow stirrer!

I found several recipes for a S’mores Martini.

The combination of  Marshmallow Fluff Vodka, Chocolate Liqueur, and Half & Half, in a graham cracker-rimmed glass sounded frightfully delicious for dessert-in-a-glass for after dinner!

I found a mini bottle of Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka~ a convenient sample size to try, that I mixed with Vanilla Vodka I already had on hand.

S’mores Peep-Tini

~2 parts Marshmallow Vodka (I used half vanilla vodka/half marshmallow vodka)

~1 part Chocolate Liqueur (I used Godiva)

~Splash Half & Half (or more depending on how spirited you want your cocktail :)

~Rim glass with graham cracker crumbs and drizzle with chocolate syrup. (I used Duncan Hines Amazing Glazes~ magically stays on the side of the glass.)

Shake with ice and strain into prepared glass.

Add a Peeps swizzle stick.

For a more powerful potion,

I infused some vodka with candy corn~

You can find the directions and details

for infusing your candy corn vodka here.

Candy Corn Peep-Tini

~2 parts candy corn-infused vodka

~1 part orange liqueur (I used Grand Marnier)

~Powdered eggs whites (equivalent for 1 large egg white, following directions on package)

~Juice of ½ lemon

Infuse the vodka: Combine the candy corn and vodka in an airtight container; set aside for at least 3 hours* then strain.

Add the strained candy corn vodka, the orange liqueur, lemon juice and mixed powdered egg white to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.

*(I found last year, the candy corn provides more color than flavor, whether you infuse for 3 days or 3 hours. I mixed this batch and let it infuse 6 hours. Shake your jar or bottle periodically to speed up the infusing process.)

Strain into a chilled black sugar-rimmed glass

and garnish with a Peeps stirrer/candy skewer

for grown-up goblins :)

The dried egg whites added to your cocktail shaker ingredients,   will rise to the top like a ghostly apparition and stay frothy when poured into your glass!

Younger ghosts and goblins might enjoy

Halloween PEEPS® Hot Chocolate fun~
