Scanned down my emails….then saw yours. Of course it was the first I opened ! What could be better than a good cup of Starbucks….and a ” treat” for the eyes. Still covered with a mushed down 8″ of snow…but up to 45….and rain today. ( You know what that means) Daffodils are up about 2-3 inches. What amazes me is , my alliums are up , and one about 4″. ( crazy guy…..he’s not suppose to bloom until June ) ! Thank you for my morning treat !
Hi Mary, My daffodils are buried under 10″ of new snow, but I know they are safe! I am even willing to give up the one hour of sleep this weekend because it means that spring is coming! Your pictures are beautiful and I love your chair. Linda

we have a little farm in Amador county called Daffodil Hill, they have planted thousands of those little bulbs and let the public wander through weather permitting every spring. It has us all growing and thinking spring flowers. I have even used the nice silks and put in water you can not tell the diff……would fill my store with them, those were the days. now my days are less busy, but the daffodils are still here every spring, thank you for your lovely post and photography, I am new to your blog but have enjoyed so much. Happy spring! we just spent the afternoon taking photos of a gang of robins, they fly in and eat the berries and drink the water then poof they are gone. what a sight red robins on a rather large teal blue pottery bowl, belongs to Lady our springer, we are not sure why we get them maybe it is the four fountains we keep going all summer. :)

We are getting buried in the snow! I love daffodils! So sweet and innocent and a great reminder that Spring will eventually come! Have a great weekend!
What a lovely post with your ‘host of golden daffodils’ inside and out. I always think of that line from Wordsworth’s poem when I see daffodils. Still lots of snow here but I know mine will grow and bloom in May. Blessings, Pamela

I absolutely love daffodils, and you’ve helped take the *sting* out of daylight savings time. I still have to get a teenager out of bed an hour earlier for school. Very difficult around here, LOL! ;P

Our clocks don’t change…but the changes on the mainland can affect us due to the difference in the time..I always have to remind family and friends about calling us before checking their clocks…During Standard Eastern Time when it is noon on the East Coast it is 7 am here….during Daylight Saving Time when it is noon on the East Coast it is 6 am here!
I am so ready to see those cheery faces in my garden too! I’d just be happy to see the grass at this point. The later daylight will be most welcomed too. Beautiful daffodil platter!
I’m so envious of your daffodils. I usually get a couple of dozen blooms and this year I only got three. :( Guess I’ll have to try dividing them. Thanks for sharing your beauties.
Love this post; daffodils are one of my favorites –they seem to glow. And I have quoted the same Wordsworth poem on my blog in a past Spring. And it occurs to me I have no daffodils to look forward to in my yard. Why didn’t put some in this past fall?

What a dear post! I adore daffodils and I suddenly realized that I have none planted in my yard. Note to self – take care of that, as soon as I can plant the bulbs!

I live in the north east and we have some snow still on the ground although it is melting slowly. Can’t wait to see some daffodils like your beautiful pictures..They are like happy littles faces to make us smile.
My daffodils are making their way to the surface but we are a few weeks away from blooms so it was lovely to see yours. But daylight savings means I have to go to work in the dark for a few more weeks!
Hi Mary! I love all of your beautiful flowers! We are getting ready to head south…and I just love crossing into South Carolina and seeing all of the beautiful blossoms on the trees! It is so grey and dreary here in NY right now…the sun and flowers will hopefully cheer us up! Hugs to Chloe and Gracie! Hope all is well!

Hmmmm. Not looking forward to springing forward. But glad to see daffodils out everywhere. We sold our home about three years ago and moved. I miss my old garden this time of year. All of our plants would go dormant over the winter and about this time of year I’d see my hostas poking through the ground and my freesias would be back with their sweet smells. My hydrangeas would be right behind them. Hope the new owners are caring for them.

Pine Grove Fri and Sat the 6 & 7 of Nov. small fun show at the Healing word church in their new building. Sutter Creek was a great success and we will be back there Thanksgiving weekend. another busy fun weekend.
