A-Tisket, A-Tasket,

I filled an Easter Basket. . .

DSC_0314-001

With some hydrangeas and bunny-approved veggies,

along with a few Easter Eggs

for a casual Easter table centerpiece!

DSC_0237-001

Bunnies are hiding among the flowers

on the runner and napkins~

DSC_0240-001

They also hide among the salad greens  with

Petite Palmiers masquerading as Bunny Ears :)

DSC_0075-001

Necessity is the mother of invention

in tablescaping on occasion,

so ruffly Salad Savoy surrounds

blooming egg cups~

DSC_0268-001

I found Tulip Egg Cups hidden like an Easter Egg

recently in Pottery Barn for 75% off!

DSC_0292-001

I discovered later they are a wee bit large to hold eggs. . .

hence the discount :)

DSC_0304-001

So the eggs are held in place with

a small glue dot and with

Salad Savoy filling in the gaps~

DSC_0347-001

The Tulip Cups are better sized for

60th Anniversary Peeps~

and

Hippity Hoppity Carrot Cupcakes :)

Your table is beautifully set for the celebration. I love every inch if it. Breathtaking!

I love this. I just happen to be working on a “birthday at Easter” themed table for my daughter for Saturday, and I’m using peeps. I am so inspired by your use of the savory instead of faux grass or something. This is wonderfully timely for me. (If I copycat you in any way and ever post it, I’ll be sure to name my inspiration.)I actually think your oversized egg cups are more versatile than the regular ones!

Wonderful ! Such an inviting table setting , on top of all : You can sit outside and enjoy the sun !
Lucky you to have Pottery barn nearby , the closest for me is in NC Charlotte which is 90 m away …
Yesterday ,very early in the morning, a bunny came into my garden and picked the little tulips (uhhh) – the first really green signs of spring , than he hopped on to the (closed) chicken coop – looking for eggs ? So , Easter is really just around the corner. Happy Easter !

Adorable, Mary! Brussels sprouts, artichokes, hydrangeas are some of my very favorite things and the way you’ve combined them with the occasional egg tucked in is so much fun! It’s kind of like an Easter egg hunt on the table!
The tulip cups are such a great find, and you have already found so many cute ways to use them. I especially love the savoy cabbage and the robin’s blue speckled egg! Happy Easter!

We’re going to start calling YOU the Mother of Invention!!! :-) What a great idea to not only help hold the eggs in place but to give them an Easter garden look! Bravo, Mary! You’ve gotten other great uses out of those great cups (75% off?!??!?!?!!) already, and I’m sure you’ll find more ways for future uses. (They look like they’d hold the perfect luncheon-sized scoop of ice cream or portion of sorbet in between courses!) Your centerpiece is slam dunk, hippity hop, right on and cool in that great twig basket!!! LOVE those precious linens!!!!!!!!! Have a Happy Easter, dear Mary!

  31. March 28, 2013 at 9:03 pm

Mary I love what you did with your eggs. A little problem leads to a wonderful new way to do things. The ruffly edge of the greens make the egg cups look even more special!!!
LOVE everything… as usually. Looking at your blog is like eating my favorite dessert… I savor it!

  38. March 29, 2013 at 4:11 pm

Your table is lovely and such a welcome respite from the garish and fluorescent colors one sees everywhere at Easter. I love your linens, green bunny plates and the uber-clever solution of using the pretty lettuce to adapt the too-large egg cups. I like it better than if the eggs had fit without it!

  39. March 29, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Well, the egg cup presentation is a darling idea. I need to stop by BP and see what might be left. ‘-) Your Easter table is sheer delight as always. Hope your Easter Weekend is filled with joy. ~ Sarah
