Blue Sky and Boat Time

DSC_1559-001

After two very wet months and a total of

15 inches of rain, we’re enjoying some

blue sky, sunshine, and little boat time!

To everyone west of the Mississippi under

drought conditions, I wish we could share. . .

We don’t know what to

make of all this water~

We were ready to

board two-by-two. . .

And our 25 foot ark was

going to be cramped :)

We took a little cruise to check on our osprey

families and see how the juveniles had grown.

Your poochies are SOOOO precious, Mary! It looks like they don’t miss a thing….very alert & inquisitive & I’m sure, so much FUN!

We, too, have had a lot of rain this summer. I hear Ohio has a bumper crop of corn but my sister’s blueberry bush hasn’t produced much at all. Strange that one thing could do so well & the other not.
We’re hoping the rain holds off for the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone today. We’ve both played that course & have also walked it, following the golfers in previous years, but we’ll be in front of the TV today instead.

Have fun out on the water!
    Hugs,
    Rett

How beautiful. We have had 15″ above normal in Georgia as well-the tomato plants are wearing swim suits!

Always fun seeing the girls and I love it when you post about your boat outings. Our weather has pretty much been the same as yours here in the northeast. Quite a disappointing summer.

  4. August 4, 2013 at 6:58 am

Beautiful photos and your pups are precious! What a treat to have the Osprey build a nest right out in the middle of the water, so enjoyed seeing them and their babies!
    Blessings,
    Cindy

I sure enjoyed my boat ride this morning with you and yours, how liberating to finally be free of the rain and out on the water! Rain or shine, it’s hard to have a bad day in such a beautiful spot as yours. When you see such magnificent wild life you just feel as though all is right with the world! We finally got our boat back but were afraid to take it out for fear something else would happen! Have a wonderful Sunday

So beautiful! Love your girl’s, they are little sea dogs. Just adore the osprey. Ours are all gown and have left the nest. Such amazing birds. We too have had the crazy rain ( Southern Virginia). All I can say enough already. It has been the greenest summer ever ! Enjoy your day.

  8. August 4, 2013 at 8:36 am

Thank you for taking me along on the boat with you, Chloe and Gracie! I love being a part of nature and seeing the osprey was so exciting. It must be your little spot of heaven, being on the lake and enjoying the sunsets. xo

M A R Y!!!! Did you hear me “all the way from Virginia?!?!?” Thanks YOU so MUCH for the wonderful gift surprise. We are eating the “Virginia” peanuts as I write this…everything you included was “spot on.” We are enJOYing all of it at our lake place and we hope you are enJOYing your weekend as well!! You are probably enjoying yours “a little more”…hubby is installing a new kitchen (29 years I’ve waited!!) and since he does all the wiring, plumbing, etc. this “may take awhile.” THANKS AGAIN, you are most generous. franki p.s. “Your girls” are just so doggone cute!!

  14. August 4, 2013 at 10:04 am

What a beautiful day to be on the lake. It’s fun to see Chloe and Gracie having such fun. They could teach Sadie how to enjoy life. Sadie is still uneasy about her car trips.
Thanks for taking us along. The sky and water area are refreshing sight, and that sunset is awesome. Happy days! ~ Sarah

Love your adorable pooches!! So glad you were finally able to to take the boat out. I know too well how it feels, as we have had much rain here in Florida. The beautiful pics you took showed of your tranquil moments. I Love the seas tranquil moments.

  16. August 4, 2013 at 10:30 am

Good Afternoon Mary, It is always a pleasure to see your lovely girls, Chloe and Gracie…. they both look as if they enjoyed their boat trip with you when you went to check on the Ospreys.
The weather has certainly been strange this year as our summer really did not begin until July. It felt like the longest winter, the cold weather just went on and on.
We are having lovely sunshine at the moment and everyone is enjoying the warmth.
    Enjoy your sunny weekend.
    Best Wishes

  20. August 4, 2013 at 12:04 pm

Oh Mary, I love living vicariously through you and CRUISING with you and the pups! Do they bark at the osprey? Just curious. The sunset pics take my breath away. I am trying to decide if I should go to the pool or not. Feeling lazy:):) XO, Pinky

  21. August 4, 2013 at 12:44 pm

Oh, wow, Mary…is that your dock underwater? Trip and Shelley took the boat out for the first since the end of June. I had a parents’ meeting for Shelley’s equestrian team, so I missed out on all the fun! I came down last night, and I see blue sky this morning. We’ll go out in a bit, and I hope this sunshine holds-out for the rest of the afternoon!

Hi Mary, As always I love getting your posts in my inbox!!! Your babies remind me of Hunter and Lily who just spent 11 blissful days together while hubby and I just got back from an Alaskan land/sea tour and it was wonderful! We had incredible weather but got back home to Colorado and faced damage from a severe hail storm that damaged the house. Thanks for bringing sunshine to me today!!!!
    Hugs, Noreen

I fear that our tomato plants are not going to produce like usual. But the blueberries (all 30 pounds handpicked by me!) were delicious and the peaches are sweet, sweet, sweet! Your pictures are gorgeous and your “babies” are adorable!

  30. August 4, 2013 at 6:41 pm

    Hi from the Pacific Northwest.
Normally we are the ones with the wet summers, but we must have gotten your share of summer here, as it has been glorious. (We normally are subjected to “Junuary” but not this year!)
Love your boating pictures. Our boat lives in LaConner Washington, and we are setting forth to “Desolation Sound” between northern Vancouver Island and mainland B.C. in a couple weeks for our vacation. Sure hoping the sunshine holds for that! I see more eagles out here than osprey, so enjoy seeing your nesting photos.

Stunning sunset captures, Mary. In fact all of your photographs are stunning and they make beautiful mosaics. The ospreys have really made themselves a fabulous home atop the shoal marker, no wonder Chloe & Gracie can’t take their eyes off them.
    Have a wonderful week.
