At the Table with Lindsey

DSC_6641-001

I’m making the transition from summer to fall,

at the table with Lindsey Dinnerware

by Mikasa.

DSC_6554-001

As much as I would like to fling myself headlong into fall,

with cozy sweaters, bowls of hearty soup. . .

DSC_6635-001

. . . and mugs of hot cider~ there is plenty of summer

weather with temperatures in the 80s and 90s

ahead for us here in the South.

DSC_6459-001

Ideal for any time of year, Lindsey seems

especially fitting for a transitional table.

DSC_6475-001

A delicate spray of flowers trails gracefully

across the white plates~ with blooms

that range from blush to a coppery-pink and rusty-red.

DSC_6602-001

Similar to our hydrangeas, turning from pink,

then burgundy, and later bronze,

in time with September’s arrival.

DSC_6564-001

Embroidered flowers on a linen-textured runner

were found blooming at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

DSC_6607-001

And silver plated Mint Julep Cups, accented with beaded details, are filled with a seasonal pick of acorns and leaves, with a few burgundy sprigs of Loropetalum and Japanese Maple tucked inside.

DSC_6615-001

The classic tulip shape of Mikasa’s Capella beverage glass, with its deep oval cut-design at the base of the stems, blend with both formal and casual dinnerware and flatware.

DSC_6470-001

DSC_6583-001

Napkins from Pier 1 add a little casual elegance~

pairing the natural jute and a rich, rust velvet trim.

A silver urn serves as a vase for a mix of floral materials,

the leather handles lending a casual feel.

Lindsey Table

A set of four assorted napkin rings have a soft pewter finish, blending the polished silver surfaces of the julep cups and vase with the satin finish of the Julienne flatware.

Mary, what a stunning transitional table you’ve set with “Lindsey!” I think it is remarkable how you found the tablerunner with almost exactly the same shaped flowers as on the dishes! I hope one day you publish a book with all your gorgeous table settings in it!

What a beautiful tablescape today, Mary. Very classic & elegant with the embroidery, velvet, crystal and silver. I love the burgundy color scheme for fall…very lovely. The pink in these dishes could easily be played up for a spring tablescape.

Hello Mary! I found you from BNOTP and I feel like I’ve found a soul mate! I used to work retail, had a Bichon (your dogs are ADORABLE!) and we have a weekend cabin near a lake. I wish it was ON the water like yours :(. Your setting is stunning and you must really love it there.

The tablescape is lovely, and absolutely perfect for between seasons!

  12. September 9, 2013 at 8:50 am

Love the beautiful colors on your gorgeous table. Getting slowly ready for Fall . Really hate to part with summer. The dishes look beautiful either for fall or Spring. Think I will be slowly getting my Fall decor out.

How extremely beautiful your table setting is. It welcomes the small changes that happen here in the south. Giving them the invitation to your table was breath taking! Thank you for sharing your talents.

this speaks “fall” better than any table i’ve ever seen! gorgeous and yet still so sophisticated and understated…like what fall would wear when she’s all grown up

  18. September 9, 2013 at 11:38 am

Beautiful table setting! I want to decorate for fall too, but it’s hard to get motivated when I think it’s supposed to be 100 degrees here today (Dallas). Love the table setting, and LOVE your hydrangeas; they don’t grow well here but I adore them.

  19. September 9, 2013 at 1:21 pm

It blows my mind that you can find the PERFECT runner for the dishes! And the dishes are beautiful for a transitional table like this. The centerpiece is exquisite, of course. Love the vase. You have mixed casual elegance to perfection.

  27. September 9, 2013 at 9:36 pm

“Magic Mary”, my new name for you :) , you have taken some china that normally wouldn’t catch my eye and set a table that I couldn’t take my eyes off of! The reflection of the runner detail in the julep cup is so subtle and the acorns and fall snipets make the pattern on the china dramatic rather than simple~I’m with you, hurry fall, heat, heat go away!
    Jenna

  28. September 9, 2013 at 9:45 pm

You have such a discerning eye, Mary. I’m amazed at how you saw the similarities to the hydrangea in those pretty plates. Also, I loved how you captured the embroidery spray in the spokes of the crystal pattern as well as in the reflection on the cup. Just Beautiful!! BRAVO!!!

Absolutely gorgeous! Starting from the awesome wicker table and chairs and the pretty runner I saw once in a store here…(I should’ve bought it!) and how perfect it blends with your lovely Mikasa china pattern! The silver vase with Fall leaves and flowers is so pretty, along with the cute little flower vases as well. Perfection!
