Cute bucket and your apples are gorgeous Mary! Oh how I wish they were still 50¢ a bucket… There’d be quite a few pies in my future:@)

  2. September 25, 2013 at 6:17 am

Mary, such a beautiful setting, I am a follower just not a commenter. Do you live in NC?

    • September 25, 2013 at 6:51 am

Hi Sheila, Yes, we live on Lake Norman!

  3. September 25, 2013 at 6:35 am

I was at the new Homegoods store in Plattsburgh, NY (gorgeous) and wish I had seen that charming apple bucket ;o) I guess I can use the money I saved and buy apples! LOL

The fresh apples are a true sense of fall. Beautiful table scape! Made pumpkin crunch cake and made the house smell so good! Eat drink and be scary was an article featured in Real Simple for October👻🎃

Lovely tablescape today, Mary! Love the bucket and the quilt is just perfect. I have always adored that flatware and am so very happy it is back. I think Santa is getting a big hint this year! :)

Such a lovely country Fall table. Who doesn’t love a beautiful apple? Gorgeous and simple table setting. Thanks for sharing!

  10. September 25, 2013 at 8:42 am

I love this tabelscape! The bucket and plates are adorable. LOVE the linens, too!!! I prefer apples to pumpkins for autumn. I like the colors better!

  11. September 25, 2013 at 8:45 am

Hi Mary, I saw that delightful pail at Home Goods but my brain was not working and I left it there. When I went back someone else had “picked” it! It’s so cute I love your red apple dishes too! Linda

  12. September 25, 2013 at 8:49 am

What a great job you did on Kathleen’s apple challenge, Mary! I love the apple bucket, filled to the brim, and those apple plates are wonderful. I have that same quilt on my bed, under a floral comforter. Of course, all you accessories are perfect… the canning jars, the antique flatware, and then your fabulous view for dining. xo

  13. September 25, 2013 at 9:29 am

I just KNEW you’d do this “Apple Challenge” beautifully! Coveting both the quilt AND those red apple plates. The bucket is really cool, too.

  14. September 25, 2013 at 9:39 am

Loooove the apple bucket! So perfect with the gingham checks and red apple plates in your beautiful fall lake setting! The apples themselves steal the show!

What size do you buy your quilts for use as table covers and picnic blankets? I know some of it depends on the table you plan to use, but what size do you generally purchase?

    • September 25, 2013 at 11:33 am

I have some Full/Queen and some King that I interchange for the table and on beds :)

  18. September 25, 2013 at 11:34 am

The apple tablescape is great. I really like the apple bucket and everything works so well together.
    Mary

  19. September 25, 2013 at 12:20 pm

Adorable! This makes me smile, Mary. Those darling plates are like a shiny apple waiting for the first bite. You always know how to pull together the perfect details no matter what the challenge. I’m still struggling to put together something for this challenge. ;-)
Beautiful day here. Hope you are enjoying the same! ~ Sarah

Once again we are creating tables with the same theme at the same time. Of course, as of now, my table is still in the “planning” stage. And, I don’t have a blog so I can’t share my tables with all of you wonderful tablescapers. But, I very much enjoy looking at each and every one of your tables, and am constantly impressed by how creative you are and the lovely photographs that you share. I am a Home Goods stalker, and somehow missed that wonderful bucket. I saw the little apple plates that you purchased, but never found the right number so I opted for the little red apple bowls by Chantel. Perhaps seeing your table will be the needed encouragement to finish my apple table. Thank you. MM

  23. September 25, 2013 at 7:00 pm

ok twinny, you now the drill, same taste blah blah blah, my bucket will be appearing with the nbs, already in the can as the picture folk say, if i had seen the red apple plates we would be sharing even more ;-) darling, really love your version, mine was strictly for hauling!

Beautiful as always. I love your tablescapes. I could actually taste the apples! Hugs, Holly

  25. September 25, 2013 at 7:32 pm

Very cute! I almost bought that bucket – but I think you did it much better than I ever would have!!! The outdoors is such a perfect setting for an apple table, and your red checks are the perfect compliment to both that great bucket and the delicious apples.

  26. September 25, 2013 at 7:56 pm

Your table is beautiful. I love, love the galvanized tray..We made a trip to NC to get apples for this challenge too…we used to visit Hendersonville every fall with my parents..Well, enough of that..lol I love your whole table…beautiful..
    Love, Mona

  27. September 25, 2013 at 8:07 pm

Mary, your post has me longing to go to NC to pick some apples! That bucket was such a great find and really makes your centerpiece!

  28. September 25, 2013 at 8:11 pm

I thought you were taking me to an orchard, but what a lovely setting.

  29. September 25, 2013 at 8:14 pm

I can only get to Home Goods about once a month so I miss most of the really good buys. The shiny red apple plates would have jumped into my cart so fast there would have been a wind sheer inside the store. Love the real apples. I was tickled that they came from Hendersonville. One of my all time favorite places to go. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m just sayin’ that Hendersonville is one of the prettiest places in the country.

  30. September 25, 2013 at 8:14 pm

And picking at Home Goods is air-conditioned! (Important in Texas.) I love the quilt as a backdrop for the rest of the table. One day I will have those wonderful chargers — Nell Hill’s, right? The red apple plates are wonderfully subtle.

  31. September 25, 2013 at 8:47 pm

I love the simplicity of your table…great centerpiece!
    Have a wonderful week, Mary…

  32. September 25, 2013 at 8:50 pm

It’s apple pickin’ time here in the north country, too, so you can bet there have been several apple recipes tried in the last couple of weeks. I must confess that not all have been presented as artistically as yours!

Beautiful….so relaxing. Have seen so many pumpkins those apples are very refreshing….NICE!

  34. September 25, 2013 at 9:13 pm

Great apple themed table! I like the bucket, the apple plates and the quilt.

  35. September 26, 2013 at 7:22 am

Mary – you table setting is fantastic, as always! Those apple plates and sweet napkins are adorable. The quilt is lovely and all of the accessories are so perfect for Kathleen’s challenge. Thanks for the comment on my apple table. We passed by your lake on the way home from our trip and you really are not far from Replacements. Get in the car and start driving – you are going to love it!!

  36. September 26, 2013 at 7:47 am

How ever do you come up with such great ideas for table settings… Live all your work of art…

  37. September 26, 2013 at 8:06 am

Those are great canning jars- I’ve never heard of them before. Your combination of the small checked napkins and the galvanized tray and bucket look perfect together. I like the red apple plates. The quilt sure cozies things up!

  38. September 26, 2013 at 2:15 pm

What a lovely apple table. Love the apple bucket with the red and white gingham!

  39. September 26, 2013 at 3:11 pm

Love the table! That bucket is wonderful. I love the way you use quilts on the table to soften things. I used a lot of bedspreads, but will be keeping an eye out for quilts in the future!

What a beautiful site this is. I’ve been searching for the wicker chargers with handles but can’t seem to find them on world market website. Are they only available in stores? Thank you so much for your breathtaking inspirations!

  51. October 4, 2013 at 6:46 pm
