Triple chocolate fudge cupcakes are filled with ganache,
topped with dangerous amount of chocolate
frosting and sprinkled with chocolate shavings~
a lethal dose of chocolate!
I doctored Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix for these cupcakes, substituting 1 cup of buttermilk in place of the water, 4 large eggs instead of 3, and the same amount of oil called for in the mix. Bake according to box directions, remove cupcakes to cool on a wire rack.
If you are not a fan of doctored cake mixes, use your favorite from scratch chocolate cake recipe.
After the cupcakes have cooled,
cut out a small core to make a well
from the middle of the cupcake.
Ganache:
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped (I used Ghiradelli)
1/2 cup whipping cream, warmed until hot, but not boiling
Place chocolate in a bowl. Pour hot cream over chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Let cool to room temperature.
This is enough ganache for 12 cupcakes, double the recipe for a batch of 2 dozen cupcakes.
Fill well in cupcakes with ganache,
adding a small amount
to smooth over the tops.
Use a lethal quantity of frosting of your choice. . .
What a way to go! Death by triple chocolate! Swoon worthy these are! They would be so tasty with my morning coffee~you ganache method sounds incredibly easy, I didn’t dream it could be so simple…my crystal ball says these cupcakes are in my future!

its not nice to salivate before you even get out of bed… i thought i could be a hardnose and not quiver, but the ganache took me down! love love to run into such a deadly concoction!
I LOVE Chocolate, but I am afraid I would have a heart attack with these. They looks so good………. I try to watch my sugar intake but I think I would
enjoy having one with a cup of coffee. They look terrific and I am sure they are to die for. Great post.
