Decking The Halls in The Potting Shed

I’m Decking the Halls

in my Potting Shed. . .

Instead of Boughs of Holly,

I’m hanging holly adorned

vintage postcards. . .

And Ball jars, pine cones

and sprigs of cedar.

My Hatherley Lattistep

is standing in as a tree . . .

Decked with a garland of pine,

 Leyland Cypress & dried hydrangea.

And ornaments are hanging

from a vintage rake. . .

Chickadees and Nuthatches are standing in

for French Hens and Turtle Doves. . .

And a burlap bird, perched on a trowel,

is playing the part of a partridge

 on my ladder/pear tree.

My Ferry’s Seeds Box is

 filled with a poinsettia, ivy,

 mini evergreens and bird’s nest. . .

And offering Christmas Greetings

and wishes from vintage post cards.

Boughs of Leyland Cypress have replaced

the oak leaves on the window dressing. . .

And ornaments and a

snow-filled terrarium

add a little vintage sparkle.
