Love the china and love the blue and brown theme. You’ve inspired me this morning – thanks so much! I think I’ll go find some of that china and buy a piece or two to set out for Spring! I’m ready for it!

Can you tell me where you purchased both the stripe and solid blue pillow please.

    • March 3, 2014 at 7:58 am

The pillows came from Target several years ago :)

  7. March 3, 2014 at 7:27 am

Oh my…you are so gifted! I love this setting! Of course, birds are one of my favorite things!! Thanks for sharing!

    Blessings,

I love stoneware. I guess because it mimics hand thrown/built. Add the bird and I’m in love. Beautiful post. I’m nesting under the afghans with the kitties … the coldest weather of winter today!

I bet you enjoy your peaceful mornings with coffee and watching the birds. The stoneware is very sweet, I’m sure the birds love nesting at your place!
Did your hubby make the loveseat and table?? since he made your cute shed I thought made that ? :)
    Have a sunny day!

Hi Paula, The loveseat and table along with our chairs by the lake came from Uwharrie Chair Company, made in NC: http://www.uwharriechair.com/

I wish I was a little birdie and could fly in there and join you at your pretty porch setting, Mary. I love the rustic look of the dishes and the soft colors and only you could enhance their beauty. xo

  11. March 3, 2014 at 8:26 am

Love, love, love the color combinations! Where do you have room to store all of your beautiful dishes?

  12. March 3, 2014 at 9:01 am

The birds are singing beautiful songs and along with the sunshine and warmer temps gives me a spring in my step!

Wish I could identify the birds that are singing by sound. That won’t happen as many birds have numerous songs.

Pretty Mikasa pattern and delightful vignette. Have a fun day.

  13. March 3, 2014 at 9:12 am

The poor birds here are crying ( icicles instead of tears ) it’s freezing – they ( and I ) desperately want Spring to come )
Your porch is just gorgeous – love love love those plates!!!

Love the dishes and as always I am amazed by how you have just the right things to create a cohesive theme. What a collection of accessories you must have!

  15. March 3, 2014 at 9:57 am

Oh goodness, Mary – another beautiful setting! You did such a wonderful job of showcasing the dishes.

  16. March 3, 2014 at 10:03 am

Well, first of all the porch setting is stunning!…I have always loved that wonderful settee in which you always style it so beautifully…and then the setting is incredibly enhanced with the gorgeous dishes!…I have been searching for more “bird themed” dinnerware and now I have found them!…So they are on my “shopping list”…Thanks for always giving us such a “happy moment” in our day!!

  17. March 3, 2014 at 10:10 am

what a perfectly lovely nest you have created for your very own nesting on the porch~I love your trays full of goodies and surprises, your photos are always like hide and seek books to me, if you look hard enough you will be rewarded with so many treats! I love your wine bottle candelabra and your little bird finial watching over everything, and the Nest pillow of course…what a great spot to dream of soon to be summer days~

  19. March 3, 2014 at 10:41 am

LOOOVE these dishes, Mary! The bird theme is beautiful! Your porch is SO inviting, however you style it. Wish I could be there with you. We got more snow last night so I took my bird shots from INSIDE this morning, they are on Facebook right now if you want to come see. Question: where did you get the LONG tray that is underneath the table??? That is awesome!!! Have a beautiful, WARM week. Hopefully we are “flying south” soon. Actually by car but the destination is the same:):)

  20. March 3, 2014 at 10:56 am

So pretty!!! Love all the cute details, the sweet birds and nests! Happy new week!! xo Holly

  22. March 3, 2014 at 3:35 pm

    Charming!
The clay bird sitting in the basket on the floor (with napkins and flatware in it) looks similar to some I used to have,,,they came from Guatemala and I found them in Miami. I’ve tried to find them again but no one seems to remember them – not even in the store where I originally bought them!

  23. March 3, 2014 at 5:36 pm

I am loving this setting!! Love the dinnerware, love the pillows, love the colors, love the use of plaid, paisley and stripes – love everything about it!! Photos are fabulous – will have to pin it so I can look at it over and over again and will probably see another detail each time!!

  24. March 3, 2014 at 7:07 pm

It’s all making me itchy for Spring, love your wonderful Bluebird shots!

  25. March 3, 2014 at 8:00 pm

I am so ready for spring. Love the birdhouse and I always love fleu-de-lis. Your porch looks all prepared for the nice spring weather.

  26. March 3, 2014 at 10:09 pm

How wonderful that you are able to get out and enjoy a bit of sunshine and warmth already!!! We woke up to those nasty record-breaking -6 temps this morning, and it was quite the shock to our systems! We’ll be well below average all week long. SO ready for Spring to get its hips here!!!

I love the Songbird collection! VERY pretty!!! I am pretty sure I will be tarred and feathered like a bird if I bring one more dish in this house, though, so I am not even going to go to the web site. The temptation will be far too great!!! :-)

    Beautiful porch arrangement, Mary! Enjoy!!!

  27. March 3, 2014 at 10:32 pm

What a lovely setting you’ve created on your porch! I’m always amazed at how you find linens to match the tableware so perfectly! Love the rustic Songbird pattern!

  28. March 3, 2014 at 11:00 pm

Great colors. It really does give me hope that spring will come.

Love how you tied in the “nest” pillow with birds, nests and bird books! Ahh I’m jealous that you can get outside like that! I have to put on knee high boots and snow pants just to feed the birds! LOL…. chirp chirp chirp!

  38. March 6, 2014 at 12:11 pm

I definitely have to do some “re-nesting” on my front porch. It is an embarrassment compared to this lovely spot! You have such a beautiful touch with everything. Your Mac and Cheese looked fabulous too!

  39. March 7, 2014 at 8:28 am

So beautiful, Mary. I’ve been thinking about getting out to back porch for some springifying. Your post is inspiring me!

  40. March 8, 2014 at 8:09 pm

Mary, is the basket that you show here the Beachcomber Seagrass Tray from Pottery Barn? I’ve been stalking this and wondering just how sturdy it is. Can you tell me whether you like it or not?

    • March 9, 2014 at 6:13 am

Hi Pattie, It is, I got on super sale :) They shipped me two, the first one, the handles wouldn’t stand up. I love the size but it does have some give and flex to it.

  41. March 9, 2014 at 3:13 pm

Oh wow so much to see! Love the jar with the jar and the bird house is so sweet! So fortunate to have this sweet spot!

  42. March 10, 2014 at 8:04 pm

Such a fantastic hang out. I could sit out there for hours. I’m sure you really enjoy it.

Mary, the beauty lakeside never ends! I could linger on this porch, tray in hand, and enjoy every detail again and again. The linens and dishes are perfect together. You are a master shopper!

  52. April 10, 2014 at 6:49 am

Hi Mary, I love it when you set up your porch for us to visit! This would be a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine surrounded by the birds and the bird “things” like the wine bottle candelabra and the those pretty dishes, and read your bird books. Your blue bird shot is gorgeous. I barely captured my pair in a fuzzy picture but I’ll keep trying. Linda
