Potting Shed: Blooming Inspiration and Spring Planting

I’m counting down to spring and

readying the Potting Shed for planting!

To bide my time until the threat of frost is over,

I planted some instant blooms for inspiration . . .

Tole trays to serve up flowers and provide

 colorful painted blooms, freshly picked

 from a consignment shop instead of a nursery.

A mossy grapevine wreath hangs on the door

in welcome with a pocket, convenient

 for tucking in a few violas and a bird nest.

And a new pair of gloves are in bloom along with a teacup

from my dish garden, providing a quick flower fix.

 Winter window dressing has been dismantled

and the window box is in transition, filled with

terra cotta pots, tools, a few bulbs, and bird nest.

Ready for easy access, to fill

with annuals and blooms.

And an architectural fragment has been

moved to the porch and is serving

 as a pedestal for a round floral tray. . .

And violas add a cheery pop of color,

and are ready for early spring planting.

Flowering buds on silver maple branches are

sprinkled in watering cans for a pop of red and

promise of spring (and pollen ;) to come.
