I’m having at St. Patrick’s Picnic on the Porch
for Cuisine Kathleen’s
6th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Blog Crawl!
My basket is packed for a picnic
and ready for the parade of green . . .
I picked some Bells of Ireland from the grocery store,
a symbol of good luck, along with some daisies
and mums for a vase.
The Bells of Ireland worked their magic
since I’m the lucky recipient of
the traveling Irish table topper!
This lovely vintage topper, complete with shamrocks and Celtic knots, originated from Marigene at In the Middle of Nowhere. She passed it along to Cuisine Kathleen, with the stipulation that it would be passed on again for another blogger’s table. Rett at The Gazebo House, received it last year and the luck of the Irish was with me when she sent it to me this year!
Who knows where it will end up next :)
Bordallo Pinheiro green cabbage leaf plates are
packed along with a few goodies in my basket. . .
And Spring Green Ball Heritage Jars
are corralling napkins and flatware. . .
No St. Paddy’s Picnic is complete
without Lucky Pasta. . .
I used the same combination of ingredients for a pasta salad as in our favorite orzo salad.
Chicken, chopped baby spinach, pine nuts, black olives, capers, sundried tomatoes and shredded Parmesan cheese~ mix together and add Newman’s Own Parmesan & Roasted Garlic Dressing.
This salad is good with any shape pasta,
served warm or cold for a picnic.
A little meat & cheese for snacking with some
Kerrygold Irish Cheese and Irish Stout Mustard. . .
And Grace’s Irish Shortbread for a sweet ending. . .
I kept seeing something circling the table
out of the corner of my eye,
thinking it was only Chloe
interested in the pasta salad. . .
Imagine my surprise when I uploaded my photos,
and noticed my lens had captured
this little leprechaun. . .
No doubt up to mischief and after the
gold coins resting on a pot of Irish moss!

Mary, this is just perfect! Love it all!! I’ve wondered if Bells of Ireland would be hard to find around here; yours are so pretty combined with the daisies and mums. I have been busy ALL day “Springifying” my house then had a meeting so just got home and this greeted me!!!! I am always so delighted when I see your posts. This one is no exception: everything is fabulous!!! The topper is gorgeous, yes, you did have the luck of the Irish!!! I wish I was at your picnic, I love that salad. I made it with the orzo last summer and it was great! I am hoping that when I get to my sisters in Fl. next week ww will get to World market and I will be stocking up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As usual, a beautiful table!!! I’m not Irish but have always loved the day and the people..the table topper is beautiful but I think my favorite is those two big brown eyes peeking up over the table. Question, is there or have you published a book of your table & potting shed scapes? I keep trying to find a way to keep your ideas. Also, thank you for your kind comments on my table scape. Thanks Ellen! I find a good way to organize ideas or themes I want to remember is to Pin them. You can organize your table boards by theme, color or style :)
