St. Patrick’s Picnic on the Porch

St. Patrick's Picnic on the Porch

I’m having at St. Patrick’s Picnic on the Porch

for Cuisine Kathleen’s

6th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Blog Crawl!

DSC_3286-002

My basket is packed for a picnic

and ready for the parade of green . . .

DSC_3312-001

I picked some Bells of Ireland from the grocery store,

a symbol of good luck, along with some daisies

and mums for a vase.

DSC_3291-001

The Bells of Ireland worked their magic

since I’m the lucky recipient of

 the traveling Irish table topper!

DSC_3292-001

This lovely vintage topper, complete with shamrocks and Celtic knots, originated from Marigene at In the Middle of Nowhere. She passed it along to Cuisine Kathleen, with the stipulation that it would be passed on again for another blogger’s table. Rett at The Gazebo House, received it last year and the luck of the Irish was with me when she sent it to me this year!

Who knows where it will end up next :)

DSC_3324-001

Bordallo Pinheiro green cabbage leaf plates are

packed along with a few goodies in my basket. . .

DSC_3315-001

And Spring Green Ball Heritage Jars

are corralling napkins and flatware. . .

DSC_3330-001

DSC_3337-001

No St. Paddy’s Picnic is complete

without Lucky Pasta. . .

DSC_3268-001

I used the same combination of ingredients for a pasta salad as in our favorite orzo salad.

Chicken, chopped baby spinach, pine nuts, black olives, capers, sundried tomatoes and shredded Parmesan cheese~ mix together and add Newman’s Own Parmesan & Roasted Garlic Dressing.

DSC_3302-001

This salad is good with any shape pasta,

served warm or cold for a picnic.

DSC_3352-001

A little meat & cheese for snacking with some

Kerrygold Irish Cheese and Irish Stout Mustard. . .

DSC_3359-001

And Grace’s Irish Shortbread for a sweet ending. . .

DSC_3365-001

I kept seeing something circling the table

out of the corner of my eye,

thinking it was only Chloe

interested in the pasta salad. . .

DSC_3296-001

DSC_3297-001

Imagine my surprise when I uploaded my photos,

and noticed my lens had captured

this little leprechaun. . .

DSC_3301-001

No doubt up to mischief and after the

gold coins resting on a pot of Irish moss!

Congrats on getting the table topper for this year! I also love your napkins and the green ball jars. I’ve definitely got to get some of those. :)

Hello! I am a portuguese fan of your blog and I am trully proud that you and some other people that comment you blog enjoy Bordalo Pinheio dinnerware. We have really two ammazing brands; Bordalo Pinherio and the other one (china) is Vista Alegre, which I believe you have already shown here in your blog. Love it.

I love the table topper! Everything is just beautiful.

  56. March 19, 2014 at 10:24 pm

Yes, MA’AM!!!! This is fantastic!!! If the weather was just maybe 10-15 degrees warmer here, this would be THE perfect way to while the day away! I’d be the most popular person at the end of the parade route if I had something like this set up for watching!!!

LOVE those striped toss pillows and that lush throw! The color is really pretty!

I think that’s cool with the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-style” shamrock topper! :-) I’ve seen it on each of you ladies’ blog posts, and you all have done it tremendous justice!

So sorry I read to the end because now I’m craving shortbread cookies! Man…haven’t had those in a long time. They’re so good!

Hope your St. Patrick’s Day was a glorious one! Have a great weekend!

As usual, a beautiful table!!! I’m not Irish but have always loved the day and the people..the table topper is beautiful but I think my favorite is those two big brown eyes peeking up over the table. Question, is there or have you published a book of your table & potting shed scapes? I keep trying to find a way to keep your ideas. Also, thank you for your kind comments on my table scape. If & when I do another, I’ll send you a picture if you don’t mind. I love fairies and love the one on your table. Thanks for sharing & HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!!

    • March 9, 2015 at 10:24 am

Thanks Ellen! I find a good way to organize ideas or themes I want to remember is to Pin them. You can organize your table boards by theme, color or style :)
