Spring has been slower arriving this year

Lovin’ your chalkboard drawing Mary! We had a couple 80 degree days over the weekend and everything popped open! Back down to 34 last night… Happy Easter Week:@)

I am charmed! We had snow here (Upstate New York) last night — after two days of above 60 degree weather. The ground is covered, but it didn’t stick to the roads……..but still….
This post is just what I needed. Thank you. Mary!

Great job on the chalkboard drawing! My poor flowers are now covered with snow after having 80 degree weather. Have a good day!

These are my favorite type posts of yours, puttering round the garden shed. I love your wide open backdoor pics, this is indeed a garden you can grow into. So many perfect touches. I am sure you are slaving away this week, keep me posted!

Well, your garden shed sure does look wonderful in her new home. She has adapted well and is blossoming beautifully. Always love your posts from there and today’s is no exception…just lovely.

Hi Mary, This is such a lovely and timely quote! My daffodils finally popped this weekend and today they are covered in snow again. All your bunnies look quite content tucked amid the flowers and one seems to be eyeing the grape hyacinths for a little morning munch. I especially love the metal one leaping over the olive bucket and would love to find one of his brothers. Do you know where they might be found? Thank you for these gorgeous pictures. I’m anxious to get outside and start gardening soon. Linda

What a lovely quote Mary, and your chalkboard art is fabulous! I love the outdoor “room” you created with the chair, table and books~ Your bunny welcome mat is so cute and you have bunnies multiplying everywhere!! Hopefully this is the LAST cold snap and we will all be puttering around our gardens! We planted this weekend, who would have thought it would be 32 this morning! I have enough trouble gardening :) you always make it look so effortless and fun!

I love your blogs. Enjoy reading each one. You usually tell where you can get some of the items you have used. I was wondering where you got your quilt you used in your display. It is beautiful. The flower design with the small squares is so pretty. Thank you for any information and I will look forward to your blogs. Thank you.

    • April 16, 2014 at 10:38 am

Thanks so much Marlene! The quilt came from Bed, Bath & Beyond a couple of years ago but I think it’s still available :)

My mother-in-law always said, “Your are as welcome as the rain” and that’s what I read as your quote. Funny how our minds work.

Wonderful quote! We have welcomed a chilly spring here, but I like it. The gardens are enjoying the cool weather and things are happy. Your garden shed is always welcoming, Mary. I so enjoy stopping for a visit.
    Happy Easter!

Here in Ontario we got hit with another 4″ of snow and high winds it was just awful. One day outside raking the grass and no coat the next day snow!!!
Any way warmer days ahead I am sure of. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter no matter what the weather is and blessings to you and your loved ones. Mary thanks for the beautiful pictures of your garden shed so warm and inviting. Lorraine

Mary, thanks for the cheery Spring pictures, they are so lovey and so encouraging! Always love the garden shed blogs. Sunday was 72 and Monday was 27!!! We went through all 4 seasons in a 24 hour period with yesterday lower MI breaking a snow record of 88.2 inches set in 1881. This year we have experienced 94+ inches — enough already!!! Bring on the sun, flowers and gardening! Happy Easter!!

Such beautiful images and inspiration, Mary. I literally felt myself saying, “Ahhh….”. I don’t know when I’ve been happier to see spring arrive. Now if it will just stay warm!

Mary, your chalkboard skills are great. I just put a big one up in the kitchen! I am going to have to practice as I don’t like my handwriting much!
Everything looks straight out of a magazine spread as usual. You have the magic touch! What a pretty spot to decorate. I feel as if I walked right into spring here!

Very pretty, Mary! I love this chalkboard door. Your flowers and outdoor living space looks wonderful. It was nice enough to sit outside this afternoon here in Ohio. After a freaky snow the other morning, it was nice to be able to do that.

  26. April 18, 2014 at 8:11 am

My favorite potting shed is all bunnified for Spring and the welcome chalkboard sign is a work of art! Happy Spring, Mary! xo

Beautiful post – everything looks great. We have had a couple of chilly days – 69 & 70, but Easter Sunday it’s suppose to 82, so it’s back and forth.

Slow doesn;t even begin to describe the arrival of spring in central PA. She is being fickle. Thikking I just might have a door to paint. Love it! Lovely setting too.
