Potting, Props, and Photos

DSC_6177-003

I’ve been busy potting with the arrival

of spring and some guests. . .

DSC_6043-001

They travel with a suitcase of props~

throws and linens. . .

DSC_6044-001

A host of photography equipment I

wouldn’t begin to know how to use. . .

DSC_6048-001

And best of all,

a couple of buckets of flowers!

DSC_6181-001

To be perfectly honest I had a lot of anxiety and

wasn’t sure I was ready for these guests, or even

wanted to do this since my Potting Shed

just had a move and no time for

landscaping and plants to grow in.

DSC_6064-001

But a little voice kept telling me

‘Let’s Do This’. . .

Who knew a sign of affirmation would come

disguised as a Home Depot bucket ?!

DSC_6176-001

We had a Carolina Blue Sky

and a warm spring day

for a magazine shoot. . .

DSC_6062

And I was fortunate to have the perfect crew

who took my all my anxiety away. . .

which I didn’t discover,

until after he left.DSC_6053

One of the things they were interested in

photographing was my

Shirley Poppy Wreath. . .

Thank you much again, Shirley!

I don’t know in what publication or

when my Potting Shed will be featured,

but I’ll keep you posted :)

Mary, I’m so happy for you! I loved the camera-behind-the camera peek–the dream team were in a magical place. Your stepping stones express a beautiful philosophy, and I love the garden glove and posey propped against one. I can’t wait to see the South’s most famous shed–she is like a heroine who has been through many adventures (uprooted! yet she’s still in bloom) and inspires us all. Thrilled for you! xxoo

I just spent a weekend with Sunday Hendrickson and I agree you had the absolute best person styling your photo shoot. She’s awesome!!! If you ever get a chance check out the website for Launching Your Creativity. Sunday was involved in this and her story of how she got started was trully inspiring. Congratulations on your upcoming magazine spot.

Congratulations Mary! I missed this post. How fabulous! Your garden shed is a delight and I’m sure they made it feel just as special as it did by the water. Looking forward to seeing it published!

  45. May 26, 2014 at 7:02 am

Mary, How exciting.. LIke Liz, I missed this post, too. I must admit, I have shed envy. Mine is a strictly functional shed, and it’s tricky trying to decorate a riding lawn mower. :) But, I LOVE looking at your shed and dreaming, and looking forward to seeing the magazine when it’s published.

    • May 26, 2014 at 8:10 am

Thanks Babs! I don’t know…I’ve seen some pretty cute decorated riding lawn mowers in our little July 4th parade :) Happy Memorial Day to you!
