Hi Mary! We go to Pawley’s Island every year in April…it is one of my most favorite places!! A quaint little drinking village with a fishing problem!! :) GORGEOUS photos!! Glad you were able to get away for a little visit! xo Jeanne
Incredible Pawley’s Island…we have a Pawley’s Island hammock from our trip there a few years ago! Gorgeous part of the world! I feel relaxed just looking at your photos!
Enjoy your weekend!
Mary, your photographs are always stunning!! Tablescapes, floral arranents, your new old bike in front of your sweet potting shed, whatever the subject … you certainly have an eye for beauty!
I must thank you for my adorable “winner” gifts! That box arrived with so many fun Halloween goodies! From assorted fall sprinkles to cute paper products to Halloween mini-spatulas … just to name a few!
You are creative beyond words, talented behind the lens and generous of heart and spirit!
Thanks so much!
Love the beach, the homes look beautiful. Not so familiar with these beaches, Southern California girl. But I can hear the gulls and smell the salt water from your pictures. So tranquil.
Lovely pictures, wish I was there too. Will need to put on my list to visit. You really take wonderful pics. Enjoy your posts very much. Have a wonderful weekend.
Don’t you love the coast in October! Pawley’s Island is gorgeous, we haven’t been to SC coast in a while, used to go to Kiawah all the time~ I know you had a perfect weekend with friends and those temps! Loved seeing the sights through your camera :)

This is one place that I would love to go sometime..became entrigged with it by reading Mary Kay Andrew’s books on it. Have friends that live in Calabash, NC that have promised to take us to Pawley Island when we come to visit them the next time. Looks like there’s some $$$$$money there until the next Hurricane comes along. Grew up in Wilmington area so know what damage those Hurricanes can cause. Glad you were able to get away for a mini vacation to relax and enjoy your friend’s friendship. Great photos as always!
One of my favorite places on the SC shores….The other is Fripp Island, where we used to spend a couple of weeks every summer for several years….
Your gorgeous sunrise pic reminded me of my own little beach tradition…My everyday routine when staying at the beach was to get up early every morning and put the coffee pot on…grab my camera and walk up the beach to the farthest NE point and wait for the sun to come up…through the years, I amassed a large collection of daily sunrise photos, all taken from the same place…return to the house we always rented, grab the coffee and sit on the porch to watch the dolphins play… Those were the days!
Opps! i goofed! It’s not Mary Kay Andrews that wrote about Pawley’s Island , it was Dorothea Benton Frank..I realized my error right away. I read both authors.
How very beautiful..there is nothing like the beac…it just make you relax and not have a care in the world…the homes are beautiful…such a gorgeous island!…Beautiful photos Mary!
Such incredible beauty! I have been to Hilton Head, many years ago, and to Maine-there is just something about East Coast beaches that just invite one in. Your photos belong in a magazine. This island is going on my list of places I must visit. Thanks for sharing.
Mary, the early morning beach pictures are beautiful! Last weekend I was in Edisto, SC for the annual tour of historic plantations, churches, graveyards and historic sites (thru the EI Historic Preservation Society). I just know you would enjoy the weekend (2nd Sat in Oct).

Palmetto trees, sandy dunes & pampass grass…that’s SC beaches. Pawleys Island is beautiful with some fabulous houses. Your pictures captured it well.
