“Autumn truly is what summer pretends to be: the best of all seasons. It is as glorious as summer is tedious; as subtle as summer is obvious; as refreshing as summer is wearying.
Autumn seems like paradise.” ~Gregg Easterbrook
Your shed looks amazing. LOVE the chimney pot and the crewel embroidered pumpkin pillow…and of course the pumpkins and all the natural Fall goodies. Thanks for the inspiration.
I noticed the pumpkins in the chimney pot right away Mary, that’s a fun way to display them! I agree with the poem too, this is my favorite time of year-enjoy:@)
I to love the embroidered pumpkin pillow! This is the prettiest time of the year. Between great weather and the colors you couldn’t ask for a better “View”!
Have a great Fall week, Mary.🍂🍁
Ps love your clever way of decorating your shed for all the occasions!🎃
*Big Sigh* You make it all look so pretty, Mary…so artfully arranged. I’m inspired to create a similar scene on my front porch bench, but it will never be as beautiful as yours.
Love that PB pillow…I wonder if I could recreate it with my embroidery machine? Hmmmmm
A smile was on my face the second I opened this post Mary, and saw your rake full of Indian corn! I just love what you do with that rake! The Garden Smiles face framed with bittersweet on the bench back is just too fabulous! The whole scene seems to be singing a happy song and you can almost picture garden fairies dancing around in delight amongst the pumpkins and leaves~Love the quote, Autumn definitely seemed like paradise this weekend here, we spent the weekend outside saying “what a perfect day!” LOVE the National Family Scale, very very fun~ and a perfect way to start the week!

Everything is beautiful!!!! I love that pumpkin pillow from Pottery Barn! I want that one & the light colored one too but, I bought the lumbar pillow… I need to go back to complete my set. Enjoy the weather & Fall colors.
Mary, Gregg Easterbrook’s quote says it all! I suspect those of us who suffer through the dry, hot summers find autumn to be the most refreshing season of all. I know I do!
Working here to add seasonal color to pots and beds. Thanks for more inspiration to keep me moving. ‘-)
I am LATE seeing blogs today as I hosted 11 women this morning for breakfast! Fun day! Of course I love this, everything. Your sense of detail is amazing. I was going to ask about that container that you said is a chimney pot. I have never heard of one but LOVE the pumpkins peeking out:) It is such a huge treat to come see what you have been up to!!! Have a beautiful week. Oh, and I love that poem at the end, SO true!!!
Can you tell me where you got the ghost marshmallows on top of your smore brownies? My grandson asked me to make him scrambled eggs and something spooky, when he comes to visit this weekend! He’s 2!
Thought the brownies would be perfect but can’t find the ghosts….
Love it all – the poem, the brown maple leaf pillow and pumpkin pillow, the garden smile plaque, — well done. Thanks. P.S. Tried the butternut and apple soup – pretty tasty – liked it even more the next day and the cranberry piecrust pecan crackers were tasty too! I added the sharp cheese option as well. Had a little trouble keeping the 2 crusts together, but rolled it all up in a ball and then rolled out and cut out the crackers and it worked well for me that way. Nice fall supper.
Everything is beautiful ~ such a great Autumn display! I have the ‘Garden Smiles’ guy aka The Green Man … ‘Legend has it that he oversees nature’ or something like that. I’ve had him for years and wrote down the ‘legend’ on the back (but he’s out in the garden right now, and I don’t remember it word for word). Beautiful post ~ thank you!

Pumpkin on the magnolia and miniatures around the fern – winning!
You arrange everything so artfully, Mary, to highlight our favorite season. The poem at the end says it all!
No better way to start a Monday morning than by viewing your beautiful photos. Thank you for a lovely start to the week.
Thank you for another great start to my day. Love everything and especially the quote. You are the Queen of detail and I do so enjoy every post.

Your bittersweet wreath is fabulous! Can’t get ANY bittersweet in our area.
All your vignettes are eye catching as always. Love the persimmon leaves and pumpkin pillow.
Very fallish! Do I spy a hydrangea still blooming in the corner? It doesn’t look like Fall here yet, not much color yet. Beautiful display, Mary!
Hi Kathleen, Yes hydrangeas are still blooming and I spied some gardenia blooms on our bush this weekend too :)
Love your potting shed, ms mary!!
