I’m at the table with an early snowfall
and Mikasa Belmont Red Dinnerware!
I had the fun challenge and assignment of using these dishes in a
Christmas or winter setting to photograph for Lifetime Brands this week.
And photographed them in a fall setting with
pumpkins, mums, and Indian corn for a
Delicious Autumn Table that I shared last week.
Timely, since the NC mountains received an early snowfall on Saturday and parts of South Carolina had the earliest snow in decades, with Columbia, SC, receiving the earliest snowfall in recorded history!
We had howling winds and rain here with the only snow accumulation on my table, to join snowmen, cardinals, and add a light dusting on bird houses and trees!
Mikasa Belmont Gourmet Basics stoneware is available in an array of colors~
blue, green, black, and red.
Plates are available in a round, traditional shape, or a
square shape for a more modern interpretation for dining.
Belmont Red is a warm russet or brick hue, the same shade
as cardinals, nesting on top of excelsior in cereal bowls.
And warm paisley and plaid checked napkins that are paired
with a snowy pine cone and jingle bell napkin rings.
A brown matelasse coverlet, used for my Belmont Red fall table,
is layered with a jute runner for easy snow removal :)
Snowflake-adorned red Christmas ornaments
and pine cones are sprinkled on the table. . .
Along with rock salt and a light dusting of faux snowflakes for a snowy accumulation and wintry mix.
Mr. Cardinal has a light dusting of snow on his wings,
and snowflakes and a sprig of holly adorns his cap!
Pedestals elevate birdhouses for some height on the table. . .
Along with a stack of Belmont Red fruit bowls and provide
a surface for sprinkling rock salt for a snowy landscape.

These are just beautiful Mary! I may have to break my promise to myself to not order any more dishes :-) as these would look so good in the sun room when the cardinals are outside, don’t you think? I hope the only snow we see this year is the kind you are showing on your table. When we get snow in Alabama it isn’t fun to try and get around in it. Thank you for another beautiful table setting.

Let it snow! Those cardinals nesting are so cute with their snowy caps atop a Mikasa plate stack! You have really shown how versatile this dinnerware is, the tones blend well with so many colors. The Americana red folk art accessories are just delightful in your snowy scene ~ I much prefer rock salt on the table instead of the road! I am just watching the news and hearing of the snow storms, it looks like a long winter ahead :( Once again, you’ve thought of everything for your winter table, ready for Christmas and beyond!

where did the metal snonman with cardinals come from? I LOVE this table setting – you have inspired me to use some similar table setting ideas for christmas or winter parties. This is so very pretty. I love the rock salt combined with the snow flakes for the wintry mix – very cute.

I love the Belmont Red. This is the first I’ve seen of it. Using rock salt for snow is a wonderful idea. I’m going to put that on my list.

Red dishes! I am swooning here, and thinking how well these would do double duty for Valentine’s Day, and would have made a deliciously gruesome touch to my Halloween tablescape (that you MUST see, because I filled my “cauldron” with skulls). I love those cardinals as well, of course, being from St. Louis. Mary, you’ve done it again. Superb!

This is one of my all time favorite winter tables…gorgeous! I love the color of the dishes, a perfect red, in my opinion. Now I know what to use instead of that lightweight fake snow that blows all over the place…thanks to you, Mary.

How versatile this pattern is with you as the designer for fall or winter. Love how the the paisley and plaid napkins in the winter tablescape unify your color accents and showcase the dishes. Then you flip to a pattern cloth for fall and it showcases the pattern in a different way. Both tablescapes show your great eye for design.
Mary, your tablescapes are works of art! You’re a genius to use the rock salt for snow, and I’m in love with those plaid and paisley napkins! We are located an hour from Columbia but we didn’t have any snow. But the cold weather did get me thinking about the holidays!

lovely tablescape. i wil definitely keep the rock salt in mind when i take out the snow this year. i love the textural depth that adds. so many details to name them all but love the cardinals & birdhouses. also i love, love those chargers and i remember when world market had them. wished i had jumped on them but i figured i could get them later & before i knew it they were gone. anyway found u thru wow us wed. mj
