We’ve been warmer than last winter with no severe weather so far but I’d like to see a few snowflakes this winter, the kind that are here today and gone tomorrow. In February please Mother Nature, not March, thank you :)

We haven’t had a lot of snow either this year and that suits me just fine!! We had enough last year to last a lifetime. I like my snow on Christmas day and that’s it. I’m ready to start gardening!! Thanks for the postings and recipes, etc.

Beautiful pictures! I absolutely LOVE that “Snow Salt” bucket. Is it a recent purchase? If so, please share where. I made the winter minestrone a few weeks ago. It was delicious! Now, if my part of Ohio gets the snow predicted this weekend, I’ll try the snow cream cocktail! Thanks for your uplifting & inspiring posts!

I love your post on Keep Clam and Winter On……but I have had enough snow in Pennsylvania. I am ready for Spring. The soup sounds great. I think it’s time for a little more sunshine and a clear driveway (no snow, please).
Enjoy your post and have made several of your recipes. Keep up the great job.

I am having baby shower in March and those lemon curd filled flowers will be great! This is definitely soup weather. Good recipe.

Mary, Here today and gone tomorrow is my favorite kind of snow, too, but I think our current batch will last a little longer and is in fact growing as I look out the window! I wish I could send a dusting to you. Hmm…maybe I’ll try that snow cream cocktail! Stay warm. Linda

Mm, that minestrone soup looks amazing! Love all your photos! Everything looks so inviting. All the pictures of the chairs with snow on them…makes me want to break out the paints and get busy capturing the images. Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

All your recipe ideas are the perfect cure to get through winter, Mary. You always inspire me to try something new. I’m like Lynn, and want to try that minestrone.
    Happy weekend to you!

Ina’s Minestrone is one of our favorite winter meals. The other recipes look delicious, I’ll have to give them a try! Lovely post.

Mary, I love your guide to winter. It’s a DIY kit that offers inspirational ideas to enjoy our days, and to have a positive attitude on cold, snowy days. Just looking at your pictures make me feel better already! have to admit, I enjoyed our little snowfall the other day…but I sure won’t miss the single-digit temps. Hope you have a sunny, happy weekend, my dear.

We’ve been sunny and in the 70s of late, but this morning it’s grey, windy, and chilly again. Old Man Winter comes and goes here in TX. He is often a big tease. Hasn’t brought us any snow this year though……yet!
Your snowy scene is gorgeous. You could sell that image as a framed poster. It’s gorgeous!
I must add the winter cookbook to my list. I’ve always thought that pear tart was amazing.
Happy weekend to you and the girls. Miss Sadie is snuggled in by my side as I type. ‘-)

Wonderful post, Mary. I love that opening photo…so beautiful. I’d love to have one of those buckets!

It is funny that some people are craving some snow and we just want SPRING to come. We have been very fortunate in that we keep just getting a “dusting” every time it snows so no big deal. That minestone is calling my name. I may make that for Super Bowl on Sunday! I don’t mind Winter per se but hate this COLD and not being able to be outside. I can’t wait to open the windows and get some fresh air!!! Have a beautifuk weekend, Mary. XO

  18. January 30, 2015 at 4:59 pm

Cute ways to pass the time until Spring! Thanks, Mary!!

Eye Candy Galore! I love that bucket too! I especially love the lake scenes. Stay warm Mary…and hugs to Chloe and Gracie!

  20. January 30, 2015 at 10:35 pm

I’ve got to make that minestrone! It’s been on my to do list for a while, and your photo makes it look so incredible! In fact everything looks perfect to keep calm and winter on! Love the first photo of the steam/fog ? on the lake~ and I second your snow motto Mary, here today and gone tomorrow!

Thanks so much Carolyn! We’re going to have a sunny Saturday with temps in the 50s here, hope you are too :-)

  22. January 31, 2015 at 10:28 am

We might or not have snow this evening. It is supposed to go about 30 miles north of us and that isn’t far so we may see a flake or two. Our Winter has been very mild!

Your lake pics make me miss our lake place. We need to see about renting a spot before season begins.

  23. January 31, 2015 at 10:45 am

It is 12 and sunny here, and we are blanketed with 30 in of snow with another 12 on the way. I don’t mind the here today gone tomorrow stuff, but this is going to be here for weeks. Nothing we can do, make the best of it! I am frozen in my driveway, it was too much snow for us, and no one could use the roads for a few days, so no shovelers. Too late now, it is all ice. I am grateful our power didn’t go out. Cabin fever is a distinct possibility! Downton Abbey is the highlight of my weekend! Glad you are well, Mary!

    Mary,

Thank you for your lovely and inspiring recipes as well as your beautiful photos of the lake. The photos are soothing to the soul. Chloe and Gracie are just darling with their lovely sweater outfits. Our dog Shortie doesn’t like wearing sweaters. Hope your day is a good one. Our area is supposed to get a lot of rain later today and Monday. No snow in the long-range forecast.

I wish I’d read this before the 4 feet of snow that is piled in front of my house arrived. And more tomorrow night!
