I’m in the Potting Shed with all things green for St. Patrick’s Day and inspiration from an Irish Blessing for a little tabletop fun!
With St. Patrick’s Day on the horizon and spring around the corner,
it seemed appropriate to have a celebration of all things green and garden!
I gathered some green and white flowers from the grocery store to fill some Spring Green Ball Heritage Jars. . .
Carnations, Alstroemeria, Spider Mums, Daisies, Stock and some Bells of Ireland for good luck.
Birds dishes, napkin rings and gardening gloves flew in to join the fun. . .
Along with bird houses, old garden trowels, watering cans, and flower frogs.
An Irish Blessing:
“May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day. . .
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue. . .
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.”
I had the luck of the Irish with the timely arrival of the sun streaming through the beveled glass window in my Potting Shed.
And casting rainbows on the table.

Everything in the pictures looks so refreshing & green – I’m dying for GREEN!! I like the idea of the side by side place settings, now just have to figure out how to do it with the set up we have. There’s just the two of us now & I would love to do something like that instead of the traditional setup. Thanks for the inspiration!
Mary, how fortunate to have the sunny skies; not as lucky here as far as some sunshine. I kept waiting for some rays, and finally had to take photos inside. Loving all the greens and signs of spring in your potting shed. The garden gloves are too pretty to use for digging in dirt. ‘-) Yippee! More photos for my Green Inspiration Board. Love your potting shed Irish tablescape. Our area is finally having spring weather–it was in the 60’s this past Sunday through today. We got rain yesterday and today. Looking forward to more sunshine. Love the rainbow through the glass prism. You have such talent for putting together such lovely things.

I can just imagine sitting in the shed at the place setting and toasting a most Happy St. Patrick’s Day and feeling the luck of the Irish and enjoying the beauty of all the different shades of green…So happy to see the Bells of Ireland…got to find some of those beauties…Always enjoy yours wonderful tablescapes among the flowers!

Now this is my kind of green! And you even snagged a rainbow landing in your pot-ting gold shed! Any time you play in the shed you give me garden pangs of my yesteryears… I am so eager to move and start afresh it hurts to see the fun you are having. I pray we can find level land to enjoy my last decades gardening on flat land! Meanwhile my green eyes are watching!

Mary, I just love this simple color scheme–so perfect for a garden shed as our world turns green again. Your countertop would be a wonderful place to dine and overlook the field. I just saw the bird dishes in HGs this week, and in my quest to “say no to the dish” I left them there. When I see them on your tables I always want them and it’s true again! Love your watering jug too. And you would be horrified if you saw my garden gloves. Not fit for a table or even to be seen. Spring is on its way and that means I’ll get a new pair, hurrah! Linda

Hi Mary, I love the charming table you’ve set in your potting shed! All the flowers and gardening accoutrements really add to the St. Pat’s theme. I got my Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates last year at Tuesday Morning, too; I really wish now I’d bought more. :-D I love, love your gorgeous napkins and the pretty bird napkin rings! Everything coordinates so nicely. The rainbow sunbeam is the perfect touch for an Irish Blessing table.

I didn’t want to post my cabbage plates table after I saw how beautiful yours looked! You are truly a master of this Mary. Every post is a delight, and I don’t know how you keep up with it!
