Last Sunday I made the Bunny Trail Mix and the Peep Parfait. Both were great hits especially with the grandkids. I adore your presentation ideas and I’m so inspired by your ideas.

WOW!! A lot of great choices! Love them all and the table scapes make me want to run out to all my favorite stores and buy more plates, napkins, stemware, etc…problem is my cabinets are already full…but I can dream! Thanks for allowing me to dream. Easter, for me, conjures up memories of my Easter baskets as a child. My mother made our baskets. They were made from old shoe boxes wrapped in crepe paper that was meticulously cut to look like floral shapes. The first was usually green, cut to look like grass or leaves, the 2nd row was sometimes white with rounded/scalloped edges like a tulip and the third row could be cut/scalloped and then curled. All put on with paste made from flour & water. The handle was a coat hanger opened and bent, then covered with more crepe paper kind of shredded to look like grass. They were beatiful and I wish I had a color picture of them.. One of these days, I’m going to attempt to make some. Sorry for the lonetivity of this post. Did anyone else have baskets similar or like this??

Nope. Mom wasn’t crafty but there were always Easter baskets to find and eggs to hunt. She did put the baskets together herself. The ones your mother made sound absolutely lovely. If you do decide to make one, please post a picture of it.

Thank you. I will. I have a black & white photo but they don’t do justice to the color of the basket. I wonder if you can even buy crepe paper anymore??

Mary you are so talented. I enjoyed reviewing your past Easter posts. I love that China you borrowed from your MIL as seen in the Chilled Carrot Soup post. I see we both had a parade this time!

I have been following about 25 blogs for almost a year. I am hoping to have mine up and running by June, “afarmhousefullofhope.com” (Currently on FB, Pinterest and Instagram) I have to say, I only found yours recently but it is by far and large my absolute favorite. Your pictures are so vibrant and your posts are so interesting/informative-I love how you threw that little napkin folding tip in this time! Where on Earth did you find the detailed picture eggs and little chocolates? They are sort of vintage (but not shabby) and I just love them! I look forward to reading and seeing more about my dream lifestyle of living on a lake! Thanks for writing!

    • March 26, 2015 at 3:29 pm

Thanks so much Lisa! The chocolates are House of Dorchester, I found them at HomeGoods. I’ve seen them recently at T.J. Maxx too in the check out aisle :) The eggs came from Michaels several years ago. Best of luck launching your blog.♥
