I’m at the table with blooming dishes and the vibrant florals of Sunset Valley Dinnerware by Mikasa.
Mikasa Sunset Valley provides a modern interpretation of a tradition floral design in a vibrant palette of yellow, lavender, coral and rose.
Scattered flowers are strewn along the borders of Sunset Valley’s plates and bowls like petal confetti in a playful watercolor effect.
I’m always happy to have flowers at the table and our weather has been warm enough to dine on the porch again! I used a floral tablecloth and a blooming centerpiece for lots of flower power at this table. I apologize in advance if all the flowers makes your eyes cross :)
By happenstance, I discovered I had a pair of gardening gloves that I purchased last year and decided were too pretty to use, that matched the dishes so I added them to the table.
For a centerpiece, I planted an urn with flowers from the garden center at Lowe’s~ kalanchoe, petunia, and a mixed pot of bacopa and calibrachoa, for some yellow, purple, white and coral, along with some ivy to soften and trail over the sides.
For some rose-colored blooms, I picked up some alstroemeria at the grocery store to tuck in the arrangement in floral water picks.
I’m a fan of alstroemeria, since it’s affordable ($4 a bunch), long-lasting, and available year round in a variety of colors.
Floral water picks can be found on the floral aisle of the craft store, in a package of 10 -12 for around $3.00.
They’re convenient for adding a pop of color to an arrangement, living basket, napkin, or to tuck in a mug at the table.

The first thing I noticed was your gloves and centerpiece, pure charm! I always tuck in flowers, shame on me I never use water picks… You did a gorgeous combo…AGAIN!
I’ve always thought you can never have too many flowers! Love your explosion of blooms Mary, such a fabulous celebration of spring! Your centerpiece is so graceful spilling out of the white garden urn, and yes, those gloves are much to pretty to soil. I think the table cloth really enhances the china pattern, it’s all wonderful fun!

Beautiful table, Mary! Love all the Spring color choices for the centerpiece. Beautiful! You’re right, the garden gloves are too pretty to get dirty! The table setting is just gorgeous! Where do you store all your dinnerware?
This is the prettiest table you have ever designed as far as I am concerned. I wish I could wiggle my nose and have it in my dining room right this minute!
Just Gorgeous, Mary! I love the floral dishes and the centerpiece is beautiful. I appreciate you joining the Share Your Style party and check out your Shed feature at the party starting Wednesday Eve.

Giiiiiirl…..you are killing me with all this “sweet” dish ware!! OMG! I have to have these if only for the dinner and salad plates. You’re killing my pocketbook too….digging into my mad money lately because of your awesome posts. Ok and I would also like your tablecloth and your centerpiece as well….you can just send me those!!!! Good thing we don’t live closeby…I’d be borrowing your stuff ALL the time.!
Seriously tho….I must have these for my galpal lunches!!
it’s all so pretty, Mary. It looks like late Spring exploded on your table! Love the urn with varied flowers. I always need help mixing plants! Have a wonderful week!
Beautiful! Those plates remind me of a set of sheets I put on lay-a-way in 1970. There was a black background on the fitted sheet covered with those flowers as were the bands on the pillow cases and flat sheet in white. I still have them (don’t use as they are so so thin,) but your pretty setting brought back fond memories. Maybe they’ll let me “Lay-a-Way” those plates! Cheers
Apparently we have similar taste, because I love all the flowers – the dishes, the centerpiece, and the tablecloth! As always, you set the prettiest tables! Thanks for sharing your talents!
Happy and playful combination…The centerpiece and linens are perfect with the dishes! Never too many flowers.
I have a bunch of flower water picks somewhere…need to look for them and start to use them more.
What a beautiful floral arrangement and dishes. I think I need to find floral dishes. Our area has in Central Virginia reached 81 today and it is so beautiful as more flowers are blooming. Have a wonderful day.
