Frozen Wine Cubes with Edible Flowers are a festive way to serve and enjoy your wine this summer!

Freezing your wine into cubes will help keep it chilled while enjoying it in the heat of the summer without diluting it! You can use any edible flower to make pretty frozen wine cubes. I used the last of our violas before they completely succumb to the heat, rose petals and some dianthus blooms. As with any edible flower, only use those flowers that are pesticide and chemical free.

Pick your flowers in the morning when they are fresh, avoiding older bruised blooms. Rinse gently to “debug” them.

Since the alcohol in the wine will prevent it from freezing as hard as regular ice, I used silicone ice cube trays that are flexible and keep the wine cubes intact for easy removal from the trays.

Use the white wine or rosé of your choice so you can see the flowers. Allow them to freeze 24 hours to solidify.

Add them to your wine glass and enjoy the blooms, ideal for a garden party, shower or just because! They will melt more quickly than regular ice but will help keep your wine chilled in hot weather without diluting your favorite glass of vino!

I love this idea! I made clear ice cubes with edible flowers for my daughter’s wedding shower. They were a hit…I never thought about making them the wine I would be serving for an event or just a special day. I’m sure the silicone tray is a great tip, thanks.

so cute, and you crack me up, only you would need wine ice cubes not to dilute your wine, always thinking girl ;-) i have never played with ice, i think its becasue our water is not drinkable from the tap so i have lived without ice for 30 years, but i will say its a very pretty addition!

What a great and beautiful idea!!! We have a thing that is a long tube with a pourer on the end that you freeze and then put in the bottle after you open it to keep the wine cold. However, this is SO much PRETTIER:):) Thanks for the tip on the silicone trays.

I like this idea. I never thought to freeze wine into cubes but it makes great sense. Even without flowers it’s a great idea! I bet those would be good thrown into lemonade too!

Oh how pretty, Mary! Right now all I have are some nasturtiums that are blooming, but they would be too large! You have the very best ideas and photograph them so beautifully!

Amazing how those little flowers make the beverages and food look so special. Enjoyed all your posts you kindly added with great ideas to enjoy both in new ways.

Mary, I have to tell you, I have made a steady batch of lemon custard every few days and have been enjoying a serving of fresh berries every morning on the gracie plates with the little birds. A fun way to begin the day in a tasty and healthful way. I love the lemon curd!! I did experiment with using oranges, but lemon is just the best. Thanks again, cant wait to use it in the other creative ways, through the seasons like you do. Many thanks :-)))
