Beautiful!!! Ours is in full bloom too….best it’s ever been….loaded with blooms! Guess the cold winter in Raleigh helped with this magnificent display of Mother Nature….and the best part is the sweet smell! Thanks for sharing!

I am jealous. We lost a 100-year-old magnolia in the front yard here in Texas due to the drought. Am thinking about replacing it with a Little Gem Magnolia. Curious about what kind of magnolia tree these blooms are from.
We have a magnolia for the first time but I don’t know if we will get any blooms. The winter was HARD on it but it is alive. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous blooms, I love them!!! Have a great weekend, we are babysitting tonight!!!

A few years ago I gave my brother and sister-in-law in the Winston-Salem area a Little Gem Magnolia as a house-warming gift – it started blooming the very next year and has bloomed every year since, according to my SIL.
Magnolia’s do grow and bloom here – in fact, there are a couple of smallish trees blooming right now in one of our local city parks – but I’m not sure of the variety. Definitely not Magnolia Grandiflora.
I had contemplated risking cutting a couple of blooms to use at a Southern Theme dinner party, but refrained myself… ;-)

Hi Mary! Been a long time fan of your blog. Love everything you do! I’m in NJ and my poor Magnolia tree is dropping yellow leaves like crazy. I read that it’s due to an iron deficiency and I’m supposed to pick up “iron chelate”. No clue where to even find it. Checked Home Depot and they didn’t have it. Any suggestions. 😕
So very pretty Mary! In the north we have a Tulip Tree that is very similar. Mine are pink and I only have a few blooms left. Just LOVE all God’s beautiful flowers!! Have a great weekend. (Oh! Saw someone hauling their large pontoon boat down the highway the other day toward our beautiful blue water and thought of YOU! (smile).
So gorgeous. I think they are such a beautiful bloom. I just cut some HUGE peonies! They were so big I couldn’t believe it. Guess they have LOVED the rain!
These shots are beautiful. We have a 41 year old – 45 ft. marvelous, ground up foliage Magnolia in our front yard. Sadly, it is too close to our house. We have a full basement and must protect our foundation from the roots. Plans are to remove the tree this summer. We are enjoying our last summer of blooms. Our hearts break over this, but fortunately we have a smaller one on our lot. Love the Magnolias!

These are just simply gorgeous. We have Magnolia here in the StL area, but nothing like the south. I absolutely love them!
