At the Table: Modern Country Style and Mikasa Magnolia Dinnerware

DSC_2744-002

I’m at the table with a soft palette of blue, taupe, white, and Mikasa Magnolia dinnerware.

Mikasa Gourmet Basics by Mikasa Magnolia dinnerware warms the table with a modern country style.

Inspired by the organic circular designs in natural wood, the warm taupe centers of the pattern are bordered by a combination of line and bead accents in a classic cream color.

And Chadwick Bead Flatware by Mikasa features a subtle beaded trim that coordinates with the Magnolia dinnerware.

A picked a blue floral paisley tablecloth with taupe accents for a foundation for the table. Water hyacinth grass placemats provide some texture and contrast to the cream borders, serving up the dinnerware.

My Endless Summer Hydrangeas with their vibrant blue blooms have started to fade to softer shades and weather with a touch of beige. I placed some of the blooms in blue vases for a centerpiece for the table.

Crafted of stoneware, Magnolia dinnerware is microwave and dishwasher safe.

For an alternative centerpiece, an Italian Countryside Large Sealed Canister by Mikasa multitasks as vase for the table.

Tranquil was the first word that came to mind Mary, a very welcoming setting! I have a weakness for tiered serving pieces, they’re pretty and functional:@)

    Beautiful!
It’s soft & relaxing on a warm summer day.
    Absolutely love the colors.
Endless Summer hydrangeas are a favorite of mine~

I love the soft color of the dishes and how you’ve paired them with the pretty tablecloth and your luscious hydrangeas. What a dreamy setting, Mary, with your lovely lake in the background. I could sit there for hours!

Love the table. How do you keep your hydrangeas from wilting?

Cool and serene is how this table setting makes me feel. The color combination is so soft and relaxing. I can almost hear the water of the lake softly lapping along the shoreline. I refreshing drink of some sort and a good book would definitely complete my oasis!

How utterly beautiful…so peaceful, Mary! I adore that tablecloth & napkins…thanks for sharing where you found them.
I have exactly ONE tiny bloom on my hydrangea, as I transplanted it last year. :(

Beautiful table! The colors are so soft and gentle. Your garden and lake views are so beautiful too!

  9. July 6, 2015 at 9:33 am

Very pretty, love the colors, taupe works in both my homes so well. Just did my bed in these colors too, I can already see myself losing my dishes after breakfast in bed. Very handsome!

Mary it is lovely! Our hydrangeas are just starting to bloom.

Ahhhh, so soft and lovely. But it’s your tablescape that makes it that way. I can totally see this paired with darker colors, or even animal print for a more vibrant look. But I LOVE this restful, calmness. And your hydrangeas are absolutely perfect!

I love the sandy browns and blues of your table, Mary. I like this dinnerware….the neutral colors are very pretty!

  13. July 6, 2015 at 11:43 am

Mary, you know how I love blue and brown together. This is a delightful table that soothes the soul. Beautiful and simple. Your hydrangeas are gorgeous as is the container of angelina and lobelia. I need to remember to plant those two together next spring, although the lobelia here is beginning to die with the sun and summer heat.
Love the linens. If I had a good reason, I’d add those to my linen closet. Brown, blue, and paisley ~ a triple win for me. Also the tote is a great piece!
Thanks for sharing the beauty on this Monday morning.

Oh so pretty Mary! The soft brown is gorgeous with the detailed white trim, and paired with the gorgeous blue and brown linens, the table is simply stunning! The rope serving basket looks very handy too! Love the woven chargers for texture contrast~

What a beautiful table to go with the beautiful scenery. If I had dinner there, I would never want to leave!

Another gorgeous table, Mary! Love the dishes and am swooning over the blue vases!!! I have to get to Target! My hydrangeas are all PINK this year, I will have to amend the soil to get blue blooms next year. The blooms are HUGE though! Just amazingly big, like I have never seen before. I also love that caddy. I need one to carry dishes etc. out to our deck. I make a gazillion trips back and forth right now. Have a great week. My hubby is scheduled for a hip replacement on 7/27 so things will be a little crazy around here for awhile. But he is anxious to do it, he is in so much pain right now. Hope all is good with you, XO, Pinky

I love the table linens so much, that I purchased them at World Market yesterday!! And, with Hydrangeas being my favorite flower and in-bloom now…just had to have such a beautiful table. The Mikasa dishes are gorgeous as well, but I just purchased new dishes that are white so they will work. Love your photography and your attention to every detail not only the table, the food but the composition of your photos….just plain awesome!
