I’m at the table with Pfaltzgraff Village dinnerware.
Introduced in 1976 and the year of America’s Bicentennial, Pfaltzgraff Village features an Early American-style design, inspired by early historic Pfaltzgraff earthenware salt-glazed crocks.

I’d like to believe we’re on the cusp of fall here in the sunny and hot South.

With wishful thinking, I set a transitional table, with darker, richer colors provided by a navy paisley tablecloth with swirls of gold, cranberry and blue as a foundation for the table, to pair with the floral motif design of the Village dinnerware.
Vienna Flatware by Pfaltzgraff offers scalloped handles with scroll and floral detailing reminiscent of a paisley design.
A glass vase provides a simple centerpiece, created and gathered from shrubs. Gold and green Abelia foliage is paired with the burgundy leaves of Loropetalum and Elderflower berries for a little texture and color for the table.
A pair of Crackle Ceramic Hurricane by Elements with an embossed fan shape and scroll design offers a contemporary option as a centerpiece for the table.
Along with a Crackle Ceramic Vase by Elements, filled with grasses and berries.
Constructed of stoneware, Pfaltzgraff Village is microwave and dishwasher safe.

I remember this pattern in 1976 and still in the 1980’s. If I really date myself i recall it was a Brides choice, very popular!
Its very pre-fall which is awesome to see and the tablecloth is beautiful with it.

At that time, I could not afford those dishes and was envious of friends that had them. Not envious any longer but I still like the pattern. Ah yes, both my Panoply sisters had this pattern! One had it in the browns you show, another had it in blues. Love your textiles.

I have a hard time finding beautiful tablecloths that are the right size for my round tables. What size do you use? Do you modify them?
Hi Betty, I buy oblong tablecloths for my round table. I turn them so the longer sides are on the corners and not hanging in a lap! My table is smallish so I usually buy a 60 x 84 inch cloth or use a full/queen size coverlet or quilt on it. :)
Mary, I’m happy to know that you use a rectangular cloth on a round table. I’m going to try that on ours. Your tables always look fabulous! Love this paisley cloth!
Hot and dry here, but this afternoon I noticed a Texas sage covered in purple blooms. My mother and grandmother always said that was a sure sign it was going to rain. Sure hope so! ‘-)

Love the use of the elderberries. My husband makes jelly with them every year. The grands call it “Grandpa Jelly”. It is so good. Great table, as usual.

OMG…FLASHBACK!!. I had this pattern and I believe every piece they produced in this pattern in the late 70’s and into the 80’s. I specifically bought this pattern becuase I had just bought my first house and everything in the kitchen was Harvest Gold. And of course, my glassware was in the amber/gold family. Boy I thought I was COOL! I’m so glad those Harvest Gold, Avacado Green and Bronze days are over…whew. I’m definately into the lighter shades these days!.

I am in love with your paisley tablecloth, the rich dark colors do harken back to fall’s beauty. My brother lives in Charlotte and calls almost everyday to tell me (over and over again) how hot it is there this summer. I do feel for you!
As usual, you have found the perfect (updated) setting for a timeless design. Love the transitional colors of the paisley linens and the solid napkins. Adding the woven chargers to blend in the richness of the paisley with the simple and classic design of the pottery was a true inspiration… Well done, Mary…very well done.
My MIL had this pattern and we added to it for her on special occasions. After her passing, I wrapped each piece with bubble wrap to send to my SIL in NJ. Every piece made it without so much as a chip. She loved these dishes and I am sure she was watching over their journey to remain with her daughter. Thanks for the post. I’m not a fan of the dish pattern, but you worked a miracle to contemporize it with the use of the richly patterned paisley cloth and beautiful berry centerpiece. I want you to come and merchandise my home, please…lol.
Loved reading the history of this pattern and celebrating Pfaltgraff’s 200 year anniversary! Your tablecloth and napkins really make this dinnerware pop Mary, and the Element hurricanes and vase are fabulous with everything! Love those Fall colors. That tablecloth is so pretty and with the dinnerware set. I still have my complete set in the blue and love it. I collect old crocks and I think this pattern looks good with crocks. Your table setting is Beautiful because I love color.
Paisley is one of my favorite patterns ( I painted the entire floor in my den in paisley LOL ) That tablecloth is just gorgeous !!!

Mary, I am so happy to be thinking about fall even it if I know it is far away! I just love that paisley. So rich and beautiful. I had these same dishes, in blue. My first dishes. I am so so sorry that I gave them away. I broke a few and needed a bigger set so I gave these away. What was I thinking?? I still have the matching little tea set that belonged to my daughter. The brown is so pretty too.

Those are the best I believe Pfaltzgraff ever produced. They’re classic in design and very durable. My mother in-law has the Yorktown set. Your floral centerpiece is wonderful.
Since I have the pattern this display makes me proud to be an owner. I think I’ll start to us it again. Just moved to new home so I should just break it out
