The Witching Hour Halloween Tablescape

DSC_9405.1

We’re gathering for the witching hour and a little spooky fun,

Park your broom at the table and fuel up for your midnight run.

DSC_9403.1

Pottery Barn, a favorite haunt, had spooky salad plates on sale,

With four iconic images~ one, a black cat with frightful tail.

DSC_9397.1

A second one, a witch in flight, perched upon her broom,

Flying in for Halloween by the light of a crescent moon.

DSC_9356.1

And it wouldn’t be Halloween without the quintessential Jack,

Carved with a face so menacing, in colors, orange and black.

A Haunted House, the last icon is the theme for our spooky cake,

For directions on assembling one, click HERE on how to make.

DSC_9418.1 Licorice windows, candy corn walls, and turrets with twisty pops,

Add some pumpkins, rock candy, & chocolate ghouls~ pull out all the stops.

Warning: “Eat at Your Own Risk”, but the choice is up to you,

May you Rest in Peace with candy bones, providing a little “Boo!”

DSC_9620.1

Inside the haunted castle walls, a votive lends a spooky glow,

If Death by Candy is your fate, what a way to go!

DSC_9586.1

Black trees wrapped in burlap provide some eerie atmosphere,

Bare branches reaching out, to make you shiver in fear.

DSC_9410.1

“Eat Up Witches” party picks give all witches the green light,

To indulge in old-fashioned candy treats, to your heart’s delight.

DSC_9595.1

Black stemless glasses are adorned with candy corn and bats,

Filled to the brim with Pixy Stix and lollipops with witch hats.

DSC_9590.1

With our scary smiles, we witches aren’t concerned by tooth decay,

Eat all the candy and sweets you want, without worries or delay.

DSC_9603.1

“Party Up Witches” straws from Pier 1, await your bubbly brew,

Take caution and steer clear of spidery webs, as you’re sipping through.

DSC_9370.1

Skeletal hands hold polka dot pumpkins in the their scary grasp,

Found creeping along the aisles of Target, spied with a *gasp*.

DSC_9582.1

My rhyming is now complete as you wait with bated breath,

The spooky fun is over, hope you’re not scared half to death. <|:>)

Love everything as always. Does Target have the skeletal hands this year? I have been looking for them every year since you first got them and used them holding napkins. Thanks for your help and all your wonderful creations.

Oh Mary! How fun it would be to eat at your table! You make every holiday a real EVENT! So glad you told where you found the polka dot pumpkins as I’m on a polka dot roll this year! Hope you stayed all nice and dry this weekend with the rains. We think we’ve lost most of the plants in the garden because they were underwater too long!

Don’t you just love Halloween Mary, I swear every year it gets bigger and better! So many temptations and things to amuse, I love all your touches, especially the spider web topped glasses! Mary, your decorations are always so beautiful and picture perfect! I don’t leave as much comments on your blog as I should since I regularly follow you, but I love all of the fun Halloween baking projects you have! Thanks for hosting the giveaway! Pottery Barn was totally picked out of Halloween when I went this week, boo.

  28. October 8, 2015 at 7:59 pm

This tablescape is so fun! (I love the poem too!) I have a similar castle cake pan and I never thought to use it for a haunted castle cake. Thanks for the inspiration!

  29. October 8, 2015 at 8:19 pm

Hi! I love all of you creativity and never miss a blog! I wrote you an email and sent it to the email address I got from your section entitled “Contact me” about 5 days ago. I hope you got it. I asked you about storage, and especially about the Black witches shoes in the one of your previous posts. I was wondering where you got them. I just love them. I also told you about myself and how talented I think you are. Thank you. Laura

    • October 8, 2015 at 8:41 pm

Hi Laura, Thank you for visits and sweet comment! I’m sorry I didn’t get your email, I’ll check my spam folder and see if it landed there. The shoes came from Kohls.com last year, you can see them in my Potting Shed Happy Haunting post. I’ve seen some fun lace up witch shoes on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Lace-Up-Witch-Shoes/dp/B003ICEZ7G
