Weekend Waterview: A Bit of Fall Color

DSC_1424-001

Happy November 1st!

DSC_1419-001

The foliage around the lake is starting to put on their fall colors and we enjoyed a couple of beautiful days of crisp fall weather this week.

I took these photos on Thursday after the rain moved out and we had some glorious sunshine.

It’s raining again today and tomorrow but our lake is nice and full.

And warm water temperatures combined with cool fall air and mornings make steam fog rise off the surface of the lake.

I always look forward to our Autumn Blaze Maple turning its reliable red fall color.

Hope you’re enjoying some beautiful weather where you are!

Happy Sunday!

Happy November! Thanks for the beautiful views! I had a BLAST trick or treating with Colleen last night and it was not too cold at all.

Beautiful fall color, Mary! Look at your lake….very close to full pool! Alabama Power has been running off water at our lake, so it’s down quite a bit although with all the rain we’ve had we can still take the boat out.

What beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing them. I was raised in New York, but have lived in So. CA for many years. I do so miss the fall foliage, but your pictures took me right back to the scenes I remember! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

Hi Mary, made your scary hand pies for a Halloween Party last night and they were so good and quite the hit of the dessert table! Love all the details to your posts. Your photos are amazing. Thank you!!

We had nasty weather in Chicagoland this last week, so much of the Fall color blew away—so it’s nice to see some more here, Enjoy!.. for it lasts only until the next storm, Sandi

What beautiful Fall photos of your gorgeous view of your happily filled lake, Mary! I especially loved the photo of the sun behind the trees, and the maple tree. We’ve had rain all day today, but maybe I can plant my pansies and kale tomorrow. Happy November 1st to you, too.

As I live not that far from you, I’ve had rain all day. But it made for a good day to light the fireplace. Love your photos of the lake.

Your fall pictures are just beautiful. It’s good to know Lake Norman is back to full capacity. Our trees here are just brilliant. A lovely fall weekend and this week it’s in the 70’s.

    Hi Mary,
It looks beautiful there! I lived on Lake Wylie for many years and was in Interior Design in Charlotte. My husband is from Charlotte. I am from Charleston and he agreed if I stayed there a while (turned out a long time) that he would get me back to my start. I do love it here (we are lovingly restoring an old home downtown) with the palms but a part still misses the colors of fall there.
I will have to live that area through your blog now! lol
