In the Potting Shed: Dining with Snowmen and Evergreen Ernie Dinnerware

DSC_2833-001

I’m dining with snowmen with Casa Moda’s Evergreen Ernie dinnerware.

Evergreen Ernie by Casa Moda brings a little winter fun to the table which meant flurries were in the forecast for the Potting Shed!

Four assorted plump and jolly snowmen decorate the salad plates in shades of blue and green, with brown accents to pair with blue and white snowflakes of the dinner plates, bowls and mugs.

I gathered my snowmen, tree slice chargers and filled Ball jars with epsom salts for bottle brush trees for a little winter fun.

A wintry mix of rock and epsom salts is sprinkled on the surface of the window ledge and in mugs.

And a snowman with wheelbarrow is ready for winter gardening.

Cheery snowmen, wearing colorful hats and scarves, decorate the salad plates by artist Diane Arthurs.

Birds flew in to nest in bowls to pair with the salad plates.

You had fun, I always love a good turquoise table :-)

As an almost obsessive dish buyer, I have to say that I am unfamiliar with this company, but am completely smitten with this lovely pattern and the darling salt and pepper shakers and sugar and creamer to match. I like the non-traditional colors (I set and re-set the table A LOT during the holidays, and like to mix things up a bit), that will carry you well beyond the holidays and deep into winter. Very nice, Mary!

A welcome relief from so much red and green. The dinnerware is so charming and is there anything better than than bottle brush trees? They are getting harder to find. Love the birds in their “nest” too. Hope you have a happy Monday; I will because it’s my birthday.

How adorable, if I didn’t have Christmas dishes that I adore, I would get these in a heartbeat. They have given me an idea for my Christmas cards to use that blue color.

OMG!! WOW!!! What a beautiful, beautiful table. I have looked at it about 10 times just trying to soak it in…I’m not a snowman collector but this would make me become one!! Everything is spot on..I usually pick one or two things that really stand out but this scape is impossible to narrow it down..you do beautiful work but this one surpassed all others.. Wish I had your knack and your space for all the pretty items you have!! This will be a hard act to follow!! Thanks for sharing and giving me some new ideas!! ⛄️☃⛄️☃⛄️☃

Love your snowman plates!! The colors are wonderful and look so pretty – a nice break from the traditional Christmas colors! Christmas blessings to you…..

Evergreen Ernie makes for a darling wintry set, Mary! You love playing with your dishes and I love seeing how you do it! It looks like the sprinkler above the window, is showering the scene with snowflakes. Your attention to fun detail just amazes and delight me!

Love your snowy scene in the potting shed Mary, and Evergreen Ernie is just adorable!! Your snowman with the wheelbarrow makes me smile, but his head looks chilly! Love the wood elements you’ve used to highlight Evergreen Ernie’s tree trimming, and the beaded snowflakes are icing on your napkins! The snowflakes hanging in the window are beautiful above the lighted wintry trees~ a snowy fantasy land of fun!

Awwww. “Evergreen Ernie”…of course, I LOVE HIM!!!
Diane Arthur’s parents are very dear friends of ours…in fact, her Dad, (recently passed away) was my Ernie’s cousin!!! We golfed regularly with them & have vacationed many times together both in FL & in NY. She is a real sweetheart & I’m THRILLED to see this set by her. You KNOW I am buying it. Thanks so very much for showing it to us!!!!!!!!!!

Now THIS is a cute table! The dishes are adorable!!! I love the non traditional colors, a nice change of pace! LOVE, love the snawman with the wheelbarrel! Adorable. I want to get some of the wood slice chargers, maybe Santa will get me some:) Have a beautiful day, Mary!

A precious table! I’m a snowman collector and I could see these dishes in my hutch for the holidays and beyond! I love the table you have set: your attention to detail is always impressive to see. Thank you for sharing this! And, thank you for the snowflakes: we don’t get any of them in So. CA and it’s a treat!! Happy Holidays, Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

What an absolutely adorable pattern that could be used all winter long. As always, you make the best of the pattern with your display. Thank you.

  15. December 7, 2015 at 12:15 pm

I love this!!!….the theme on my back porch is Snowmen….so I need that snowman with the wheelbarrow!….you have the most wonderful vignettes….you are amazing Mary!!!…

  16. December 7, 2015 at 12:48 pm

This pattern is one of the cutest I’ve seen in the ‘whimsical realm’…and so fun to see how you have played with it…I don’t normally care for dishes with either animals or figures of ‘people’ in them, but Evergreen Ernie is not a people…is he? Please tell me I can like to see him peering at me from dishes?
    ;-)
    Adorable!

Mary, Shirley and I will have to fight over that snowman with the wheelbarrow!!! And those snowman dishes are just darling! I didn’t put out my snowmen this year and I’m already missing them!

    December 9, 2015 at 7:07 pm

Love Ernie! I already have 4 different snowman/snowflake dish sets, but if I didn’t, I would love to have these. So cute, and can be used all winter long! Snowmen take over my house when Christmas comes down – makes the cold January seem just a little bit warmer.

  28. December 10, 2015 at 11:23 am

How fun is this. So cute and the snowmen dishes are precious. You know I love aqua/turquoise any time of the year but it is go perfect for your design.

  29. December 15, 2015 at 9:53 pm

Oh my gosh! That is so delightful! Have a very Merry Christmas Mary! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!

How did I miss this darling table when you posted in December? All those happy snow faces make me smile as if I were playing in the snow myself. It’s so obvious that you have fun when you create these different tables, especially the ones within the potting shed. I’d love to watch you in action.
Can’t believe tomorrow is February. Looking forward to seeing what you will share for the upcoming fun February holidays.
