A Christmas Table for Two with Plaid and Bunnies

DSC_3755-001

I set a Christmas table for two by the tree with plaid and bunnies. . .Christmas, bunnies and plaid, one of these things is not like the other. :)

DSC_3702-001

I’ve had these Fitz and Floyd Christmas Bunnies for 20+ years, and it’s been a long time since they escaped their bunny hutch come out to play at the table!

DSC_3727-001

They’re dressed for Christmas with a wreath and bows at their necks, paired with plaid and greenery at the table. They’re joining Better Homes and Gardens salad plates and plaid dinner plates from Williams-Sonoma, on wood slice chargers.

The tree is finally finished and we’re celebrating by dining by the glow of the lights.

Sprigs of boxwood and cedar add a natural touch to pair with the garland and wreath detail on the candlestick and bunny.

Help yourself to a glass of Christmas Sangria with Rosemary Simple Syrup, as easy to mix as it is to drink!

You can easily adjust the fruit and ingredients to suit your taste or your crowd. Substitute sparkling water, lemon-lime soda or ginger ale for a non-alcoholic alternative. You can find the recipe, HERE.

Love your outdoor theme. My favorite! Wish those plates were still available. We had a tree farm for many years. Because of health reasons we had to stop the business so it has grown into a wildlife habitat.

All so pretty, Mary! A welcoming and cozy Christmas table even if the weather outside is frightful(ly) WARM! :) I can’t believe the begonia filled windowboxes on my porch are still blooming!

Very pretty Mary, I love the plaid plates and the bunnies are cute. Glad to hear your MIL is doing well! Merry, merry:@)

Love it! Those little Walmart plates are pretty nifty! I only have a couple of the patterns and treasure them!

Aw! You had me at “bunnies”! The plates are adorable as well as your Fitz and Floyd bunnies. Super cute with the plaid. I saw the Better Home and Garden plates at Walmart this year. I was very tempted to buy them. Unseasonably warm here too. At least we’re getting rain!

Love your table settings!!! I have the same salad plates. Couldn’t resist them last year. They are so cute!! So glad Betty is doing well(That was my mom’s name. Still miss her so. She passed away on December 18th, 1996> Seems like yesterday sometimes) Have a very Merry Christmas xoxo

I have loved those dishes and regret that I don’t own them every year! Twins again with plaid table for two, only mine is an al fresco picnic with dogs not bunnies :-) I hope you show your tree, it looks chalk full of fun like everything you share~

Very pretty! I spotted the Walmart salad plates earlier this year on your site and searched for them at Walmart online. No separate salad plates were available, so I ordered two sets of table settings for 4 since the entire set was very cute, and since it was Walmart, not too pricey. My favorite pattern was the baby deer, and in two sets, I only got two of those (set also had the pine tree pattern, but no birds unfortunately). Then, low and behold, I went to Walmart and found the deer plates sold individually (sigh). I got 4 more and while I was shopping another woman saw them in my basket and asked where they were! Can’t wait to use them when our girls come home for Christmas this year!!

Oh I love your Fitz and Floyd collection…..I so remember going to the Fitz and Floyd outlet once a month, years ago, and when I moved I downsized my collection…now I definitely have that “donor remorse”… A most gorgeous and festive table….and I spy a most fabulous tree in the background….have a Merry day Mary!

How adorable, the bunnies and the plaid go together so well.

  19. December 16, 2015 at 11:08 am

Love the plaid, the wood and the plaid echo in the plates. I have the same Fitz and Floyd salt & peppers, they are from 1991 or 1992, so you are correct on the 20 plus years. Timeless. You may have inspired me to set a holiday table in the middle of the week. It may shock my family, but on a rainy day, it may bring smiles. Like others, I have given away sets of china so maybe a trip to Homegoods is in the works.

What a pretty table! The bunny plates are adorable.
    Happy Holidays.

What a darling table! I am enjoying my BH&G plates this year, with plaid chargers from Michael’s and solid white dinner plates. My granddaughter loves the deer, birds, and bunnies on the plates – and so do I!

  24. December 16, 2015 at 3:35 pm

Mary, Getting my plaid fix this morning with this adorable bunny table. Love sitting in the glow of the Christmas lights. I think I’ll linger even though the errand list is calling out to me.
Beautiful details as only you can do, Mary.

  25. December 16, 2015 at 3:42 pm

A wondrous woodland setting that is just perfect in every way! The bunnies are true treasures that you’ll never find again. I ♥♥♥ all my F& F pieces & am very careful not to chip them as I unwrap them each year.

My “Ernie” snowman dish order got all screwed up…instead of 2 SETS of everything (4 pieces each) the packer sent only 2 salad plates, 2 dinner plates & 2 cups…one of which had the handle broken. I called & they re-ordered the missing pieces & they STILL got it wrong!!!!! Totally forgot the 7 mugs they owed me & now they are all out & say they don’t expect anymore. They want me to return the whole mess for a refund. I am NOT HAPPY with Lifebrands OR PFALTZGRAFF at the moment!!!

    • December 16, 2015 at 3:56 pm

Good grief! So sorry to hear about your “Ernie” fiasco Rett :( Sending you an email.

Whew, I’ll bet those bunnies were happy to get some Christmas tabletop fun, Mary! What a cute table all your Fitz and Floyd pieces make…such charm and personality they make. I’d love to have a sip of that special drink, while admiring your creativity. . Cheers to you and your tartan tablescape!

Thankful that your mother-in-law is home and feeling stronger every day…just in time to enjoy some Christmas cheer. What a joy it must be to come home from a shopping trip and discover such an inviting table…even tho you created it yourself. Here’s wishing you and yours a lovely Christmas…

  36. December 17, 2015 at 3:12 pm

I love anything F&F Mary, but have never seen the Christmas bunnies! How cute they look next to your holiday sangria! A charming woodland holiday setting, it’s all so happy and adorable!

How charming is that?? Love the BH&G but can never find my favorites so this year I ordered them online from WalMart but they only sell the salad plates in sets of six. Now I have too many – is that possible? I didn’t think so! You are the best stylist!
