Flower Therapy for the Table: Mikasa Meadow Violets

DSC_7491-001

I have some flower therapy for the table, ideal for spring or summer, but especially welcome on a cold winter day, Mikasa Meadow Violets dinnerware!

DSC_7352-001

Meadow Violets, by Kim Parker for Mikasa, brings the vivid beauty of the garden indoors, with a bright palette of painted florals to the table.

An embossed foliage design borders one side of the plates, providing some texture to the clean, white surface of the porcelain dinnerware.

Kim Parker, artist and entrepreneur, is the founder and creative director of her namesake lifestyle brand, and brings her signature style of modern floral art and design to the table in collaboration with Lifestyle Brands.

I always welcome some flower therapy at the table, especially if it’s cold and gray outside!

DSC_7507-003

The grocery store was a flower garden this past week in anticipation of Valentine’s Day. I picked some alstroemeria, hydrangea, daisies and carnations, along with some Granny Smith apples for punch of green for a centerpiece for the table, to go with the blues, pinks, and purples in the dinnerware.

DSC_7443-001

I arranged the flowers in wet floral foam, grouping them by color or colorblocking, for a modern and easy arrangement.

DSC_7412-001

A tablecloth freshly picked from Kohl’s, provides a colorful flower garden and foundation for the table and dinnerware, with profusion of blooms, complete with dragonflies and birds. I was under the influence of Kim Parker’s exuberant floral design when I set this table, so I apologize if all the flowers make your eyes cross :)

Dragonfly napkins rings in turquoise and green marry a pair of napkins, a floral with a solid turquoise, to match the dragonfly design in the tablecloth.

I’m a fan of alstroemeria! It packs a flower therapy punch for $4, is long-lasting, and available year round in a variety of colors.

And Mikasa Gourmet Basics Blossom Flatware adds a modern floral vine motif to the table.

Kim Parker® Meadow Violets pattern for Gourmet Basics by Mikasa is crafted of porcelain, microwave and dishwasher safe.

That is SO pretty! The Kohl’s linens are a perfect match. Your centerpiece is beautiful. Grocery flowers & greens have been a mainstay here at my house since late January, helping beat the winter doldrums.

Just so charming and pretty. I’m always a admirer of your center pieces. The addition of the apples is just so creative, but then that’s how you roll!

What a breath of spring time, Mary! No, my eyes didn’t cross one bit, as I loved every flowery minute of scrolling through your pics! The color blocking of the arrangement is beautiful and the dragonfly was a sweet surprise.

I agree about the alstromeria. My favorite year round. Pretty table. I love the idea of the dishes, not so crazy about this particular pattern. I hope they expand this process with new designs. I’m a dish-aholic!

Beautiful! Perfect for a summer ladies luncheon on the porch! Snowing and 5 degrees here in Southampton, so all those flowers are eye candy!

So pretty, Mary. I love the dragon fly napkin rings. Your flowers are lovely and really cheer us today. You are inspiring me to try adding fruit to an arrangement sometime. I have never done that. I’ve thought about it but never followed through.

Oh, Mary, your flower therapy was just what I needed on this snow-turned-into-rainy day. The tablecloth reminds me of the wildflowers in your field, and your love of gardening is evident in every photograph–which are gorgeous. Thanks for brightening this gloomy day.

Love the beautiful tablescape with dishes and flowers. It brightened up my morning. Our area had quite a bit of ice earlier then the sun came out and melted it.

Mary, I had a bad fall a while back & my hands caught all of the damage & hurt too much to even lift my laptop. I think I even slept through Valentine’s Day! (Good Drugs)
These dishes are beautiful & I want them, but I already have dishes in every corner of my house, BUT, I believe I can make just enough room for the tablecloth, napkins & dragonfly napkin rings! (I already have the placemats) YEA!
Thanks for making me feel better! Have a great day,
    Betty

  30. February 23, 2016 at 8:06 pm
