Just saw these green mason jars. They were in a small basket, four across in a row. Thought about getting them for my herb cuttings and placing on my sink counter to enjoy. But didn’t have the money that day to splurge, so passed them by. Hope I am a winner of either lovely gifts. Being Irish the cookbook would be delightful and yummy I am sure.
Keep those beautiful pictures coming our way, they so make my morning readings enjoyable!!!

I love Irish Soda Bread, Irish Lamb Stew, and of course the mashed potatoes. My paternal grandmother was Sottish and Irish. She taught me to make a few dishes of each before we moved to Michigan and left her in Washington. I would love the cookbook, a little bit of the Irish to remind me of my grandmother. (She passed when I was 17, we left when I was 9)

As to this issue of your blog, Faith and Begorra! It all looks wonderful!☘ My husband is the cook in the family. He’d love it, but it might actually get me cooking!! I’m awful. Rick says my attention span is too short. I’m always off trying to do something else and forget what’s on the stove……..
My maiden name is Harrrigan. I miss people remembering the song…….
Oh! I forgot! Potato soup! Mother always made it on St. Paddy’s Day.
Without a doubt, corned beef and cabbage with Irish soda bread! I love those green canning jars!
Beautiful post! When I wake in college, I used to go an Irish restaurant and they served Blarney PuffBalls. Potatoes with cheese, garlic & herbs. Rolled into little balls & fried. Delish! I’d love some right now. Thanks for sharing all of your pretties!
Mashed potatoes, especially with the puddle of butter. Love reading your blog. I thought I had a lot of different dishes.

Oh Mary, what a fabulous post of Irish inspiration! I want to make each of your recipes.
What’s my favorite Irish food…hmmm, when my late beloved and I visited Ireland, I loved the Brown Bread that was served and I’ve never been able to duplicate. It was full of grainy goodness, and not like soda bread.
Gotta be potato soup. It’s so comforting. Not on Facebook but will share my email.😁
Soda bread. My wonderful mom makes loads of it every year for a friend, that serves it in her restaurant with corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick’s day. She makes a special batch with no raisins for those of us that don’t like cooked raisins. The jars are beautiful and this was a bright green glimpse of hope for Spring days soon to come. Thank you.
I absolutely love your blog!! Thanks for such a nice giveaway opportunity! My favorite Irish food has got to be Irish Soda Bread. I’ve never made it before, but this is the year I’m going to give it a try!!

Hi Mary, I loved this post-how can’t I when I’m full blooded Irish? You are bringing back memories from my trip to Ireland last year to see where my grandparents were from. I love Lamb Stew that I had there and many other treats, but due to the gluten couldn’t sample any fresh Soda Bread-such a disappointment. I also loved the Oatmeal that we had in the southern part of the country. Would love a chance to have one of those prices. I’m a subscriber and also going to FB now to follow you(if I don’t already), so please enter my name a third time.

Corned beef and cabbage is my all time favorite!!! I’m already a susciber, and of course I will share this on FACEBOOK!!!
Love the pictures in today’s post. I like to start St. Patrick’s day with scones. Some years I have added a drop or too of green food coloring, but mostly i like to serve them plain with clotted cream. And some Irish coffee is a nice way to end the day, especially if it has been a chilly day for the parade. I love the presentation of your trifle served in the green mason jars.
I love pasties which are like your hand pies.
Shelley had to collect and cook Irish recipes last year for American History. She put together a cookbook and cooked some wonderful meals. I love practical projects like that!
I grew-up eating Irish food because my great grandmother was Irish. But I suppose my very favorite Irish dish is boxty.
There’s a saying that if you want to keep your man, you have to cook a good boxty, and if you can’t, then you’ll lose him! ;P
Great post. I’ve bookmarked it so I can enjoy it during the coming weeks!
I like good ol’ Irish Stew. And a nice hot cup of Irish Breakfast Tea.

You are such a great inspiration, Mary. Thanks for all the delightful ideas you share!!

Potatoes and Irish soda bread – YUM! Thanks for the opportunity.

Fanny Madge’s Potato Candy is my favorite family recipe handed down through the generations. It is light and feathery with an ever so delicate wisp of coconut. We serve it at luncheons and give as gifts. Someone is always amazed that the main ingredient is potato. Thank God for the Irish and our resilience.

Hi Mary!
As always, I was delighted when I read your St. Patrick’s Day tribute and I enjoyed reading every delicious Irish recipe and looking at the creative and charming way your tabletops were “wearing the green!”
… and I loved the idea of cuttng shamrock’s from a leaf!
You continually amaze me with your creativity and artistry.
My favorite Irish foods are Sheperd’s Pie and Potato Soup.
Hope you have a wonderful day! ☘
What a wonderful post! St. Patrick’s Day has long been one of our favorite holidays!
My favorite Irish foods are actually the traditional dinner of the Irish in the New World, corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes. I also love mussels. I always order a steak with Irish whiskey mushroom sauce at our favorite Irish bar/restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. My hubby loves Shepherd’s pie. We both love chocolate cupcakes that I make with Guinness in the batter, a filling that includes Jameson, and a frosting that has Bailey’s mixed in. Finally, we love a bread pudding with Irish whiskey caramel sauce.
My favorites are Colcannon, Irish Soda Bread with raisins & a sugar crust + Irish butter, and Bailey’s (or Tullamore DEW). I also like black pudding, Irish Salmon, & Spring Lamb.
I subscribe.

Hi there Mary,
Sheperd’s pie and Irish Stew are at the top of my list of favorites. However, after viewing you post, I think there may be some additions!
Being an Irish girl, I just love all the Irish food. Anything potato has my top vote. Just to prove that I am Irish to the core, my maiden name is Duffy. A solid Irish name!!!xoxo
Ireland is the most wonderful and beautiful place. I took my daughter and granddaughter there 2 years ago at St. Patrick’s day time. We had a wonderful time.Since we are part Irish and from Texas the people loved us and showed us the kind of hospitality would would love to have when visiting an area. They told us that Irishmen fought in the Alamo and we would not have won if not for them. They love Texas and Texans .I also have a dear older lady friend( nun) who is from there whee she was 16. I share Irish food from recipes I find and to take her . She will not being going back home due to she is in her 90’s . Thanks for sharing.Hope I win so can share more stuff.
Baileys Irish Cream fudge is my favorite Irish food served with a steaming cup of Irish coffee. Thanks so much for a great article and the giveaway. Might have to add the bread pudding to my dinner party this year!!!
Potato soup for sure. An all-time favorite during the winter months.
Irish Soda Bread! Or maybe corned beef and cabbage!
Probably corned beef and cabbage.
I love corned beef and cabbage! I will definitely be trying your recipe for homemade Irish cream. Thank you for this opportunity.
I love Irish stew and so does one of my twins. The other loves potato soup. I would love to go to Ireland one day and see the beautiful green everywhere.
I’m not Irish but my birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day. When I lived at home my mom would always make Irish beef stew and soda bread for my birthday meal. So those are my favorite Irish foods.
I LOVE THE BOILED DINNER, AND SODA BREAD, AND GUINESS FROM A MASON JAR OF COURSE, HAPPY ST PATTY’S DAY
My go to is corned beef and cabbage but those Beef and Guinness pot pies look delicious!

Your posts are always so beautiful. This one is so full of color and mouth watering food items from the Irish Cookbook. I remember when I had my first taste of Irish Soda bread just freshly out of the oven made with Whole wheat flour….so very tasty.
Thanks for this giveaway and for the sponsor and the post.
We normally do a brisket for St patrick’s, but I also love bangers and mash. Thank you so much for all the wonderful recipes. It’s always such a pleasure to visit your site.
I think that my favorite Irish dish is Colcannon! While I love corned beef, Irish soda bread and many other dishes, it is my favorite and look forward to having it on St Patrick’s Day! Braised Cabbage is my next fav!
I would have loved to enter the contest, but I just got this posting today. March 5th :(
Mary, Where did you get the green flower napkins that match your cabbage plates? I add to my mom’s “cabbage collection” every year for her birthday. I have been on the search for a perfect napkin to give her this year. Thanks for your help!
Hi Kasey, All the sources are at the bottom of the individual posts, just follow the links :)
Lots of competition on this one. We usually make corned beef and cabbage, although I understand that this is an American idea, not Irish but it’s a great excuse to make this dish. Sometimes I make Irish soda bread and often drink Irish breakfast tea.
I did the facebook thing, also!
irish soda bread and corned beef/ might change to your lamb srew/beef
My favorite is my grandmothers Irish soda bread right out of the oven with shephards pie (or Irish stew) and colcannon. And of course with a cold Guinness! But then again, any Irish food is delicious! Wonderful article and the pictures are fabulous!
Thank you Mary!
