The Potting Shed is a Jardin de Legumes this week with inspiration from a handsome hare and serving of veggies!
I have all things garden on my mind with the arrival of spring! I had a little tabletop gardening fun with a veggie centerpiece and Farmers Market Salad Plates when I was lured by le lapin on this garden plaque, freshly picked from Pier 1 this spring. . .
Le lapin dans le jardin was as hard for me to resist as veggies are for bunnies, which explains why they haven’t been so quick to hop away after Easter.
Carrots. . .
Beets. . .
Onions. . .
Cabbage. . .
Kale. . .
Petit Pois are suspiciously absent . . .
The bunnies must have been eaten them first :)
Table Details:
Jardin de Legumes Sign / Pier 1
Farmers Market Vegetable Salad Plate / Williams-Sonoma, last year
Cabbage Plates, Bowls, and Bunny Salad Plates, Bordallo Pinheiro / Tuesday Morning, several years ago
Asparagus pitcher / HomeGoods, last year

Rattan Placemats / Antique Farmhouse
Jute Runner & Veggie Napkins / Pottery Barn, several years ago
Napkin Rings / Williams-Sonoma

Bunnies / retail days
For those of you still covered in snow, I hope you see some spring green soon!
Hard to choose favorites here, they’re all so wonderful, but those bees on that flatware and that sign are all that! Always so inspirational! Have a great week.
Oh Mary, those luncheon plates are so pretty and perfect for your garden table. The canning jars filled with flatware and a napkin look so cute, and also the garden glove filled with a napkin looks so pretty. The bunnies hopping about your table look full of mischief and add the perfect touch of whimsy. I can see that you’re happy to be puttering in the potting shed again, and so are we!
“Sigh,” I’m in heaven here Mary… There is nothing more fresh and spring like than an abundance of fresh vegetables and bunnies! You know I love your veggie plates, and the sign is oh so fabulous! Have fun puttering with your lapin and this lovely jardin de legumes this week- it’s hard to believe parts of the country are still getting snow, we were swimming yesterday :)

Mary, I love love love this post! I am a total fan of the Pier1 “Jardin” sign, I have several of the Jardin pieces myself, I love bunnies! We r having some big snow right now, wish I was in your neck of the woods, still have my fingers crossed on that one! Have a beautiful day, thanx for the beauty this am!🐰🐰🐰
Monday morning goodness! I could hop right into my computer sceen and feast on those ruby raddishes and crunchy dew kissed cabbage. The produce looks like it is fresh from the garden or market. Beautiful! Have to say that this table is thrilling my gardening instincts. Pinning lots of images from this post. Makes me want to host a garden party. So many fun ideas for a table. ;-)
Mary, this is so gorgeous, it should be on the cover of a magazine or book. Your centerpiece looks as if it was gathered from Mr. McGregor’s garden (with permission from MMCG). Your love of the natural world is evident in each detail that you’ve chosen. Also, I wanted to thank you for the GREAT ideas you gave me. I so wish we lived closer. We would have such fun.
I am new to your blog as well…I save it for last because I love to take my time in looking at your wonderful settings,it is so inspirational, and you have quite the knack of making your vignettes.
Another artful display…you never disappoint. And I adore the garden plaque! I see some healthy meals in your future with all those beautiful fresh veggies.

YOU are an Artist when it comes to putting things together on your blank canvas!!!! I just Love everthing here! It is SOooo exciting to see what you have done next in that Potting Shed! I’m with you I have been working outside in this beautiful weather but starting tomorrow it will be getting back cold…Come on warm weather and stay awhile….Me and Mary likes puttering in the Potting Shed.
Mary, I agree with Michael Lee above…and I think we ALL wish we lived nearby to play together in your potting shed! Such a beautiful table setting with the dishes and les lapins all looking quite content surrounded by crunchy veggies! I keep looking at your screen hanging on the wall with the dishes and gloves attached. What a great idea! Love it all. Linda

Oh Mary, this is one of my favorite things you have done! That sign was the perfect jumping off point and the salad plates are GORGEOUS!!! Your eye and attention to detail is amazing. Thank you.
Your tablescape was wonderful. I appreciate your presentation and I know it takes a lot of time to put together a beautiful post. Thank you so much.
Joyously,

This is so inspiring, Mary…I love all the wonderful touches of spring!
We were on the same wavelength this week, with plates our displayed on edge & mason jars….although I like your canning jars filled with flatware and napkins better. I must remember that! You’ve taught me SO MUCH!
The plates are just darling & I so wish I could come sit with you beside your lake & nibble some healthy veggies.
Great eye candy for the soul in all your details today. I was wondering if the great window in your potting shed was planned for the perfect photoshoots or if it just happened. Lovely post.
Oh so fresh and beautiful….and I love the way you inserted the napkin into the garden glove!….Yes, those bunnies can be pesky….but they sure are adorable! Have a great week Mary!
Of course, I love your Garden vighette! I purchased that same rabbit picture . Now im re-doing my living room . Im decorating with vegetables and rabbits..Its a nice change, from using flowers. Everything you mentioned, you bought last year. I would love to have those vegetable salad plates.. Im having a hard time finding decorations for this theme.
Thanks Ann, I wish I could help! I bought the sign from Pier 1 around the end of February/beginning of March. All I know to tell you is to check with your local store to see if they can check other stores’ inventory to see if one shows up. Good luck!
Mary,
Your hare and veggies garden shed is so full of life and vitality. Green is not my favorite color, but I love how you bring together natural veggies with their roots and stems intact with the dishes they inspired. Spring is here in north Texas with wildflowers blooming along the roads and in pastures. The wildflowers are such a common sight every year that the road construction crews looked right past them and plopped their porta potty in the midst of a stand or bluebonnets. Quite a juxtaposition.
How wonderful that you can start gardening so soon!! We live in ski country Utah, and are a month later than you; does your Autumn season start early also? Love the vegetable centerpiece. they look so beautiful in their natural form and the pic with the water dropped dew is just a work of art. The plates I purchased from WS last fall and am looking forward to using them and seeing you enjoy them also!!
I am quite new to your blog. It is such a joy- the staging & photos are stunning. I am looking forward to reading your archives.
Hard to choose favorites here, they’re all so wonderful, but those bees on that flatware and that sign are all that! Always so inspirational! Have a great week.
What a beautiful table….love, love, love the vegetable plates!! Happy Monday!
Love it all!!
Great display today. I enjoy your efforts at every posting. You obviously have a great eye for finding beautiful vignettes.
This is really beautiful. I love all the elements you chose to pull together. There’s nothing prettier than real veggies. :)

Here’s the $64,000 question… Did you have to draw straws to see who had to eat off of the kale plate??? Nice and springy on a cold and rainy day:@)

Lovely as always! I am still not getting your posts. When I try to sign up again it says I am already a follower. Any ideas?? Thanks!
Hi Mary, I’m thinking that if it says you’re already a follower you’re getting post notifications sent to your spam folder? Have you checked there?
Just. Spectacular. So, so pretty and charming!
Hi, I’m new to your blog and just love this post. Fell in love with the Jardin de Legumes Sign but can’t find it at Pier 1. Help!
best, Ann
