In anticipation of Mother’s Day this Sunday, I set a flower-filled table outdoors!
Floral print napkins and napkin rings with dainty sprays of roses, are paired with white embossed fruit and flower plates. . .
Set on a quilted coverlet as a tablecloth with delicate embroidered flowers.
I pulled out some vintage blooming flatware to add some additional flowers to the table, found a local antique mall when I was in need of a flower fix.
FTD provided me with a sunny bouquet for a Mother’s Day table.
I chose a Better Homes and Gardens® Sunlit Meadows™ Bouquet, inspired by the wildflowers blooming in the field next to my Potting Shed.
Better Homes and Gardens® Sunlit Meadows™ Bouquet has a “fresh from the garden” feel, with a combination of sunflowers, yellow spray roses, magenta mini carnations, white daisies and green floral accents in a ribbed aqua glass vase.
The floral print napkins and quilt lend a cottage garden feeling to the table and we hope to sit outdoors this Sunday, weather permitting, for Mother’s Day brunch and sip on mimosas!
The flowers and vase arrived safely, secured in the packaging for transit.
Directions were on the packaging to maximize freshness and longevity and enjoy the bouquet.
Steps to a successful bouquet:
Size your FTD bouquet to fit your vase, cutting stems at an angle for maximum water uptake. Remove any foliage falling below the water line.
Add flower preservative to fresh room temperature water. Gently remove any bruised outer protective petals from roses.
Some of the flowers in my bouquet arrived in bud form, and were fully open in three days. To keep the flowers looking fresh while waiting for the buds to open, I changed the water daily.
If you don’t have any floral preservative you can make your own with this easy formula.
To celebrate Mother’s Day, I have a make-ahead Strawberry-Almond French Toast Casserole~ easy for Dad or the kids to assemble for Mother’s Day brunch! You can find the recipe, HERE.

How utterly beautiful, Mary! Love the floral print napkins and napkin rings with the sprays of roses…sooo pretty!
You always set a special table but with the addition of the FTD arrangement, this one is extra special. How nice of them to ask you to feature their products!
I’ve been away at the big quilt show in Paducah, KY & came home with a horrible upper respiratory infection. In bed for days & just now getting around to visiting my bloggy friends. Will catch up with your prior posts later. It is nice to be home.
Gorgeous!
FTD picked the perfect person to share the lovely bouquet of flowers, Mary! The flowers look so cheery on the table, along with the English Countryside (I think I’ve told you before that I have a set). I remember that gorgeous quilt from your previous post, and it looks so endearing here, too. What a dreamy setting with the lake in the background!
Delightful tablescape. I have a quilt similar to yours made by my aunt. Can’t wait for the recipe.
Mary, what a lovely Mother’s Day table! The FTD floral arrangement is beautiful…I have never used FTD, but maybe I should! Pam @ Everyday Living
Simply stunning Mary! The floral theme is lovely with the flatware, china and napkins. The quilt is gorgeous, love using them for tablecloths. Your photos are so serene and I love the snap of the table an lake. The French toast looks so yummy. Beautiful post………..hugs. Happy Mother’s Day.
I was going to ask what you would be eating then saw that wonderful casserole! I want to try that. Your table is so beautiful, as always! The FTD arrangement is just what I would pick too, I love casual arrangements. I wish someone would get me some flowers but they never do:):) I might buy myself some!! Wishing ALL the Mothers out there a very happy day!!!!
Pretty table, Mary. I love all the flowers and colors in the arrangement and they go so well with your quilt and chintz napkins. The casserole and mimosa’s look wonderful. To sit there gazing at the lake and the beautiful wild flower field would be fine dining indeed.
Enjoy your week.
Most beautiful quilt in your collection. Love it. Beautiful setting.
Beautiful tablescape – love all the flowers in the napkins and silverware. Your bouquet is very lovely.
Happy Mothers Day to you. Oh the French Toast looks wonderful.

Very pretty Mary, lovin’ your new flower flatware! How fun of FTD to send you the flowers-enjoy:@)
Wow absolutely beautiful!!
Mary, I spent the morning at the Lady Bird Wildflower Center filled with vistas of fields of beautiful wildflowers. You are fortunate to live near your own fields of wildflowers.
The quilted top is the perfect base for your flower themed table. Love the embossed white dishes. I’m always drawn to white dishes that have an embossed detail. The embossing provides beautiful design and texture while the white dish spotlights the food. A win / win!
Eager for the recipe. I’m a French toast kind of gal! ‘-)
That is gorgeous. Have a wonderful week.
Any Mom would love to sit at your flowery table and enjoy brunch by the lake Mary! The strawberry french toast sounds wonderful! Your bouquet is perfect on the quilt field of flowers and the mimosas complement the sunflowers making such a happy scene! My FTD flowers still look fantastic after 8 days, I’m very impressed by the quality. I hope you have a sun filled weekend with mint juleps and mimosas, boat rides and wagging tails!
