Chick-fil-A Bouquet for Mother’s Day

DSC_2055-002

My BFF gave me a Chick-fil-A Bouquet of beautiful roses from her garden. . .

Don’t you wish you could order a bouquet at the

drive-thru to quench your thirst for flowers?

DSC_1999-001

Chick-fil-A:  Hi, Welcome to Chick-fil-A,

how may I serve you today?

DSC_2046-001

Me:  I’d like a large bouquet of your prettiest old-fashioned roses,

assorted colors and fragrant too, please.

Chick-fil-A: My pleasure!

I cut some greenery from the shrubs and added some wet floral foam i

n a favorite bird urn from my retail days as a foundation for the roses.

I’ve had the urn 15+ years. It came with a beautiful lidded top

that was broken during shipping, but was still usable as a vase.

I had a lot of *free* broken pieces from my oh-not-so-glamorous retail career ;)

What a simply gorgeous Mother’s Day gift to wake up to! Takes my breath away. I can just smell those roses. Thank you, Mary.

I was wondering if the purple foliage is lorapetalum. When I try to use mine in arrangements, it seems to go limp within a day. Any suggestions to make it last longer?

    • May 8, 2016 at 5:30 pm

Hi Carol, It is lorapetalum! I have better luck with it and other garden foliage not drooping if I cut early in the morning and place it in a bucket of water several hours or overnight with some flower food to condition it. If you don’t have flower food, you can mix some lemon-lime soda (not diet) in the bucket of water :)

    ~Mary~

    Beautiful !!
My grandmother had a lovely yellow climbing rose bush and when she past away my mother dug it up and planted it in her yard, I kick myself for not doing the same when mom past away :( . Roses must live a long time !!
    Have a wonderful day !!

Gorgeous roses and I know the scent is wonderful. Your urn is beautiful and with the greenery and roses it is a specimen arrangement. Beautiful post.

Happy Mothers Day Mary, I love David Austin roses, just can’t beat the old fashioned ones, the beauty and scent are mesmerizing.

Stunning arrangement! I love that you use the old “broken” things. After 3 kids, most of my things are “broken”!

  16. May 8, 2016 at 11:21 am

Mary, your creative mind doesn’t skip a beat! I love the way you think and the spontaneity of your sense of humor. Love it when a gardening buddy drops by with a cup of flowers. ‘-) Glad you kept the urn too. What a beauty with the detail of the birdies. Gorgeous piece and the perfect home for these roses.

I would much prefer a bouquet of old fashioned roses to a bouquet of chicken nuggets any day! The way you transformed them from cup to urn is indeed the work of very magic fingers! Just beautiful Mary!

Oh your Chik-Fil-A bouquet is gorgeous…How great of your BFF to bring you those exceptionally gorgeous roses from her garden…and then you turn it into a bouquet that would adorn a table of a 5 star restaurant…but Chik-Fil-A is close! I am sure it was your pleasure to receive and your BFF’s pleasure to give. I do love that piece as a vase!

Just gorgeous! I wish we could go to Chik-fil-a to get an arrangement like that! Where in the world did you find that gorgeous urn with the birds? I just adore it!

    • May 1, 2019 at 3:56 pm

Thank you Chris! I’ve had the urn for 20+ years, it’s from my retail days😀
