The new watering can is so cute, love the colors. The peonies are beautiful, I love that color of pink.

Your pinkilicious post brightened my Monday, Mary! I hope your knock out roses don’t get the dreaded rosette disease either. Enjoy those peonies while you can! Love your new, bright and shiny watering can!

Your photography leaves nothing to be desired. The pictures take my breath away! Have you considered publishing a book of your photos? Enjoy your peonies. Here they are about three weeks from blooming; I am encouraged, I have buds!!

Mary, such bloom loveliness! Peonies and foxgloves are two favorites of mine! Happy Monday! Pam @ Everyday Living

Simply stunning, could spend hours wandering through your garden photos.

Oh my goodness…such pretty pretties!! They should SELL a screw on cap like that pink floral one, so we could change out all our watering cans!! It is DARLING!
Your peonies are waaaay ahead of mine. In fact, I must remember to go put the cages on mine before they get much bigger.
You are right, that flowered spade is much too pretty to use! Just stand it up in a pot & let it be a decoration.
Loved seeing all your wonderful variety around the steps. You have a green thumb along with that decorator gene that skipped my. LOL

  8. May 9, 2016 at 7:53 am

You paint so many incredible pictures with your camera Mary, and your pink peonies are beyond words! I love your new watering can, I’m sure your other ones are quite jealous of this flowering beauty! It is bound to help you grow extra large happy blooms! Happy buzzing!

Mary, what is that pretty large bush/tree by your shed with the white longish flowers? Very pretty!

    • May 9, 2016 at 8:24 am

Hi Jackie! It’s Japanese Privet, it blooms only briefly in the spring.

  10. May 9, 2016 at 8:04 am

Beautiful! I also have a watering can affliction, but not as bad as yours. ;) We are away right now, but before I left the monsoons at home, I was keeping watch on my irises – the purples were blooming, but my yellows (just 2 years transplanted, never yet bloomed) were still in bud, so I may not see their lovely faces until their 3rd year. :/ Your garden is so wonderful, Mary, and I enjoy each and every post of your photos. Have a great week.

Love the peonies, power to the pink.
    Great pictures

Everything is so pretty Mary, I want to sleep in the potting shed and just soak it all in! Have a lovely day flower lady!

OH my, Mary! Beautiful as always! I agree with the others….your photographs are breathtaking.
Have you ever thought of making notecards out of your photographs and selling them?
They would be beautiful and great sellers!
Love all the different shades of pink….and thFoxglove!

Those pink peonies are AY MAY ZING! And I love your watering can obsession. Thanks for sharing.

  17. May 9, 2016 at 9:15 am

Mary, Your garden is beautiful! I hope your rose survives. My entire hedge of knock outs is coming out this week, victim to the dread disease! :( Your pretty pink peonies in the aqua blue watering are a cheerful sight! I hope mine bloom half as beautifully as yours have done. Linda

    • May 9, 2016 at 4:53 pm

Oh Linda…I’m so sorry to hear that :( Our neighbors lost half of their KOs and took them out this spring. I’m guessing the other half will succumb too. I hope you find something wonderful to plant in their place!

  20. May 9, 2016 at 11:17 am

Mary, your garden is pretty in pink! Of course you needed to bring home that pink watering can. ;-)
I stopped into Whole Foods on Saturday to pick up some pretty pink peonies to take to a friend. It was a location I don’t usualy stop, and I noticed that the floral department has wheelbarrows hanging from the rafters. I wanted to get a photo for you, but didn’t have my camera with me. I’ll go back and do that. They were all sizes, shapes, and colors as well used. It was fun!
Thanks for sharing your pink blooms. Have a grand week.

I loved walking in the garden today with you! The foxgloves are in their glory, and your peonies are showstoppers. What are the tall white flowers in the background? Your KOs are splendid, too==fingers crossed that they’re healthy. A few of my canes looked odd and red, but they are turning green, and RRD doesn’t do that, I don’t think. If you Google Fine Gardening and RRD, there’s an article about pruning suspicious canes (but I myself am taking a cautious approach, seeing if they turn green; but I won’t wait much longer). Worth a shot! Love seeing your magic around the potting shed, with the darling watering can. I love your collection. Wishing you a sunny, not-too-hot week and plenty of magical gardening and fun! ((Hugs))

    • May 9, 2016 at 4:48 pm

Thank you Michael Lee! I read the same info in Fine Gardening and almost took my shears to a couple of canes as a precaution, I guess I’ll wait :) The white flowers are Gaura. I planted it last spring and it tolerates drought, heat and humidity!

Your garden is gorgeous! I, too, love pink and blue most in my garden. Will you tell me what the green (possibly ground cover) plant is that grows between your steps and the birdbath? Also, can you give the names of your peony and penstemon plants? They are too beautiful! Your post today was pure joy to me!

    • May 9, 2016 at 3:14 pm

Thank you Martha! I have some Wooly Thyme and some Blue Star Creeper planted between my stepping stones. I don’t know the variety of peony, it was already here when we bought our house. The variety of Penstemon is Lavender Riding Hood :)

  23. May 9, 2016 at 1:36 pm

I don’t think I’ve! ever seen such beautiful flowers! I tried growing a peony while living in Mt. Pleasant. It took 3 years to get my first bloom, and then……we moved! I was just looking at some foxgloves this morning and passed, but after seeing your photos, I’m going back to get them! And your new watering can…..SWOON! Of course you had to have it!

  24. May 9, 2016 at 1:37 pm

A walk around your potting shed it’s almost like walking through an enchanted English Garden…How absolutely gorgeous…You have a knack for finding the most incredible things…A blooming spout watering can and a flower decked trowel of all things!!!… Lovely!

  25. May 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm

Stunning photography; I can almost smell the peonies. Thanks for sharing.

  26. May 9, 2016 at 4:42 pm

    Wow! Gorgeous! ;)

  27. May 9, 2016 at 6:20 pm

Enjoy those blooms Mary! I really didn’t have any lilacs to speak of this year and have been watching the peony buds with anticipation… Lovin’ your new watering can too:@)

  28. May 9, 2016 at 7:19 pm

Love your post today, Mary! What a beautiful garden of flowers you sent me today on my birthday. I could walk around the potting shed all day looking at all your different verities. Love your new watering can. I have started a small collection, too. My beehive can is my favorite! Your post today has given me so much joy! Thanks for sharing!

  29. May 9, 2016 at 9:27 pm

Oh, I have loved seeing all your beautiful pink flowers! The watering can is great and that spade is beautiful. I wouldn’t want to use it either:) Our flowers are not blooming yet, My peonies are full of buds so hopefully soon! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pictures!!!!

What a great way to start the day, the pictures are beautiful!

  31. May 10, 2016 at 10:22 am

Hi, Mary! I was so excited this morning when I opened my Email and saw thirty-two post from you that I haden’t seen do to the mishap with Word Press. I enjoyed all of them, and pinned a few of your recipes. All is fixed now, and I am grateful! There is no place like home when it come to homeiswheretheboatis!

  32. May 10, 2016 at 7:09 pm

So very, very beautiful in this most enchanted garden filled with not only the most gorgeous flowers but the garden is charmed by the beautiful vintage garden items! Love the “watering can” rain chain! Your foxglove is amazing…mine are a little droopy…I guess I need to give them more water. A garden that is truly among those that we pay admission too!…I love Spring…so that I can see your beautiful garden bloom!

  33. May 10, 2016 at 7:42 pm

Your peonies are luscious! I swoon when I see peonies and love love foxgloves too. I think your peony is a Sarah Bernhardt. They have the most heavenly scent.I saved the petals for years from my daughter’s wedding flowers and they still had a lovely scent.
I am trying to root an old variety of peony that blooms here. Wish me luck, I would be thrilled. Generally it is too warm here but this heirloom variety blooms at our church every year. I used to grow foxgloves every year and I miss them. They are annuals here and are hard to find and pricey.
    Like your new watering can.

Just BEAUTIFUL!! My peonies is only about 2 foot high and growing daily so I need to get the circular cage around the base to help support it later on. I am in love with your bird bath and the little birds that circle the edge. Where do you find such wonderful garden items? Happy for you at your find of such a pretty watering can. We need some warmer spring days – we are still in the low 50’s and rainy.

    • May 11, 2016 at 5:26 am

Hi Cyndi, I have the little bird bath about 20 years old from my retail days. It came from a company called Hen Feathers that has some gorgeous garden pieces. I wish I could trade you a couple of 85 degree days for a few in the 50s :)
